View Full Version : Computer restarts when XBMC started

I have been using XBMC on my windows xp computer for a few months now. Recently, I had to reinstall windows for an unrelated problem. Once I reinstalled XBMC 8.10 I tried to start the program. Instead of starting, a program named SDL_app show up in the taskbar and then my screen goes black and my computer restarts. I have reinstalled my video card drivers, XBMC, and tried everything I can think of.
Windows XP SP3
ATI All-in-Wonder 2006 edition (Radeon 9600)

I dont know your issue but I think the SDL_app you are seeing the task bar is normal. I see it most of the time and mine starts ok.

Anybody got any ideas? This is very as frequently want to use XBMC to watch videos on my TV and can't.

Anybody got any ideas on how to fix this? Or even heard of anyone else having this problem? XBMC did work at one point on this computer so I know that it can be done.

Anybody got any ideas. I know there is a way to fix this as I did have XBMC installed at one point on this same exact computer.
Got the same issue when I manually added a new source to the sources xml file (in the *Current User*\Application Data\XBMC\userdata folder).

Maybe trying out another piece of software that also uses SDL/OpenGL could narrow the problem down? For example try teeworlds:
