View Full Version : can't get movies contetnt
Hi
I'm using XBMC for the first time with the latest release.
I set my videos folder and set the content to IMDB, but it doesn't scan the videos folder and doesn't retrieve the content.
Is it a firewall issue? I'm using NAT with my router.
this is what the log shows:

???
im no expert on this, but looks to me as if you might have the wrong part of the logs to show imdb lookups?
have you selected option to "scan for new content" ?
i always have my movies in their own folder which is labled with movie name, and therefor have " use folder names for lookup" selected also.
hope this helps,
Dam0

this is no imdb lookup log at all.
first of all: did you already set up your video sources in filemode? this quote
(C:\Users\revishmul\AppData\Roaming\XBMC\userdata\ advancedsettings.xml)
10:50:00 T:4592 M:1001779200 NOTICE: C:\Users\r****l\AppData\Roaming\XBMC\userdata\sour ces.xml

tends me to assume you did not, yet.
you have 2 options to check your video data against imdb:
1. set your parent folder where all your movies reside as a source. use the context menu of that folder and choose "set content". make sure imdb is the scraper in use.
out of that window, use context menu again. this time select "scan for new content". xbmc should start making the lookups.
2. if this leads to nothing, you might be more specific. this time, select ONE movie or directory containing ONE movie, use context menu, choose "set content" and ensure imdb is the scraper to use. out of that window again the context menu is the place to be - this time select "movie information". either you should get a window stating "quering imdb info" or - if the movie is already in the database - get a movie information window where you need to hit refresh to get that query.
if you - in both cases - don't get that "quering imdb info" window you do no lookup at all.
another hint: check your movie dir. if there is a file inside which ends with .nfo, xbmc assumes the movie information is inside this file, thus it does not lookup online in that case, delete the nfo file and you should be fine.
hope that helps a bit
cheers
