I was testing a new pair of speakers I built and came upon a problem I hadn't noticed before. When playing an exposed piece of music in XBMC, I get a slight popping sound. First piece I noticed it was Gordian Knot's "Arsis".
Trouble shooting that I have already done:
Software:
Used "DVDPlayer" as well as "PAPlayer" and again problem exists in both.
I have opened the same files in VLC and no popping/static sound.
Hardware:
I have used the digital and analog outputs of my HTPC to see if it was a problem there, and the problem exists in both.
Used a different computer running WMP and the same files no static.
Used different amplifiers and speakers and problem still exists when using XBMC.
When using XBMC on a different computer and the same files problem doesn't exist. (this is the one that really gets me)
...
So I guess the real question is if I could have XBMC use VLC or a similar program to control MP3 playback (can't really notice popping with movie files since there is a large variety of info going to the speakers and it gets covered up or it isn't actually there).
Thanks for your help
