I'm thinking of buying a Aopen mini pc which is using this chipset. I would imagine that if it can play Blurays off the drive it's included with that video playback should be of no issue. But I want to be sure before I spend the $$s.

Ive been using the gigabyte EG45M-DS2H for a few weeks now and it works perfectly.

Ive got a C2D 2.67GHz CPU with it and it plays BlueRay files perfectly.

I'm using the Asus P5Q-VM with an Intel Pentium Dual-Core E5200 2x2.50GHz.

No problems running 720p MKVs or Blu-Rays (with PowerDVD 8).

The Intel GMA X4500HD looks like a pretty nice graphics chip for an HTPC.

I have an Asus P5Q EM, and I had problems with the Intel G45 and my HDTV. After spending some time creating a custom monitor inf with PowerStrip and generally missing a real graphics control panel I just bought a 9500gt.

Edit: Note I had problems with the HDMI port, VGA worked fine but my TV's VGA input looks pretty awful. Nvidia running over HDMI detects supported resolutions (even 1080p24) without issue.

Thanks for the info guys. I have my aopen mp45-bdr sitting in my living room unopened - still undecided whether I'm going to keep it though. Trying to read up on stuff as quickly as I can

Andyd - I have an Aopen MP45-DR (same model just missing the bd player) in my bedroom (2.53Ghz cpu and 4 gigs) and runs every 1080P mkv that I have (except stutters on the killa sample). Since it only stutters on the killa sample, I am perfectly happy. It is running on a Sharp Aquos 42" LCD with no issues.
