There's a link to the PPA install thread on the download page and instructions to compile in README.linux. Which you read is up to your technical abilities, I'm guessing the first one.
There's also http://xbmc.org/wiki/?title=HOW-TO_compile_XBMC_for_Linux_from_source_code which is what I used.
