what would be a good HTPC case with a built in infrared receiver feature for XBMC linux? how can that case be modified to make the machine power up with the remote? will i be able to use the MCE remote with that built in receiver? if not, how am i able to reconfigure XBMC/unbuntu so that i can use the remote that comes with the case?
Hey you get the answer to that question send it to me please. That is one of my questions I am trying to get answered myself. I am sorry I couldn't help but would love to know the answer. I have a remote that is connected through USB.

Using this myself. The remote will power on/off your htpc.
Just use the imon software that comes with the case and configure it to send keystrokes to xbmc. Took me 5 min's to setup the featues I want.
Btw, dont bother to install imedian/imedian hd. Development has almost stopped completly and the current version is far from finished. Cant even adjust the subtitle size...
I guess most cases supplied with a imon remote/lcd will should be able to perform power on/off
Sidenote: the Imon control works perfect with my harmony 555 as well. Just remeber to select silverston lc10 in the harmony configuration program.
