I would like to start by saying a huge thank you and also congratulations to the XBMC team. As a long term user I am very happy to see XBMC come to the Windows platform and so far it's really looking great. Many features work, and I'm happy to say that my media center PC is already producing much better results than my old modded Xbox.

* Request: Please include the msvcr71.dll in the installer for the next release ;-) Bit of a gaff that one, if you sneak it in quick and rerelease quietly then noone will notice ...

* Request: Please make it possible to specify the resolution via command line parameters or config file. I'm using a VGA converter to output in s-video, and my display adaptor (GeForce 8600GT) reports a minimum display resolution of 800x600 which results in downsampling which makes the fonts look fuzzy. The nvidia control panel allows me to specify custom output resolutions, and I would like to force XBMC to do the same.

* Bug: On Vista x64 the SMB client cannot access the SMB network. My network configuration is fairly typical and so far this is looking like a bug. If you can help guide me as to find the details you need then I'm happy to help where I can.

* Request: IR remote controls .. My god, the headache I am currently experiencing trying to get this to work, it shouldn't be necessary. Please, a couple of rough tutorial links on the forum don't cut it. We need to see why one method is better than another, we need detailed steps, and ideally we want this to work out of the box. This is a pretty big barrier standing in the way of XBMC on the Windows platform. XBMC should be looking to become an actual replacement of Windows Media Center, and for a lot of people the remote control is the most important input device for their media center PC.

Other than that, I think the rest of the outstanding bugs have been discovered and documented.

All in all this is actually a spectacular release, and I look forward to seeing what the future holds for this awesome program.

On vista 64 here too.
Still trying to get a decent display on my Westinghouse 37" LCD(only NTSC 16x9will give me anything usable. Agree with the network problem. All my videos are on a NAS drive. XBMC cannot find the drive or the network.

Guys,

from the begining the SMB error has been known about, its not a new bug.

for the time being, you need to "map" the shared folder/drive in explorer.

hope this gets you on your way.
