Enyone finding the new XBMC worse then the beta ?

I am experiencing few problems with my XBMC, It takes very long to start playing divx files (have just tried a rar-ed ones), I have to wait a minute or 2 before the playback starts.
Then when I skip the beguining of a show (right or up keys) the sound plays at normal speed but the video plays ultrafast then normal, sound skips to sync with video and so on... untill it gets better or XBMC freeses.
I am running XBMC on ubuntu 8.10 up to date. any ideas ?

SEARCH THE FORUMS - this is likely a pulseaudio issue, which has been discussed to death elsewhere.

Also, you can't expect people to help if you don't give relevent detail - which O/S is this on? Have you upgraded recently? What hardware, etc etc etc!
