No AC3 Audio On Video playback ATV

Any reason why starting with beta2 and now 8.10 I can not hear any sound when its been encoded with AC3? Even retail dvd's I can hear the previews but when the movie starts I hear a digi spike out of my speakers and then no audio. Anyone else having this problem?

I can however listen to anything encoded with DTS. Makes it more interesting.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I am having the exact same problem. Can't speak for DTS however, since my SONY STR-DA80ES can't decode DTS. Right now I'm recoding a movie with AC3 to the m4v format to see if I get AC3 working with NITOTV. I'll post my findings.

I just testet a MKV file with NitoTV/Perian. No problems with AC3 sound. XBMC outputs only noise when playing that file (analog audio works fine). I hope somebody finds a solution.

create a ticket, describe the problem, include a short sample. That's the way to get a issue in the face of the devs.

A similiar issue has already been submitted and the dev's are aware of the issue.
