I'm thinking about just putting a new large hard drive in my XBMC to have all my files on there to be self contained. Currently I have a 160GB drive that is starting to develop a bit of a clunk. I used a 1TB network drive before that worked ok, then I wanted more mobility so I bought a 500GB external to tag onto my laptop.

Looking for feedback from other people who have upgraded and what the largest drive someone has successfully upgraded to. Or is it worth it until the 360 can be modded and can play HD files and upgrade the space on that.

Just make sure you search on xbox-scene about "lba48" an make sure you understand all of it's limitations before you install anything over 500GB.

done heaps of 500Gb machines... couldnt really afford 750Gb - 1TB IDE drives when they were about as they were sooooo expensive! and they're impossable to find now but 500's are plentyfull and come in at about £60.... With the release of xbox partitioner 1.1 its even easier...
