Folks,

When I read the forum upnp/dlna is often questioned, so do I...
I'd love to use it, my tv has a renderer, XBMC obviosely and my servers are MYthTV and Twonky on a NAS.

My personal experineces are: It's not usable at all, either formats/decodes missing or sloppy video and allways not able to fastfoward, jump e.g.

Is that something you noticed as well?

Not that it's important, there are so many other ways, but it's a joke to have a AV standard which is not used :oo:

Cheers, netwho

We are not a dlna compatible server, we just pretend to be. We do no transcoding that would be.

Not to be meant as a complain.
I actually more wondering about the render (client), towards if this ever will be useful for video. I got several servers and client didn't find any combination which allows a e.g. fast forward as xbmc does...

fast-forward only requires seeking support from the server. and a server that can serve data reasonably quick.
