Amazing job on XBMC. Been using it for a long time and have recommended it to so many others.

Anywho, I've never had this problem before, but here it is:

I have 2 computers both running XBMC Atlatic Beta 2 and windows vista x86. Whenever I try to launch XBMC on either, instead of the window showing in the taskbar or on my desktop anywhere, it just comes up in the little preview window that vista has when you move the mouse over a tab in the taskbar (although no tab is actually created). I don't think I'm able to create a log file since xbmc never actually shows up in the list of processes in task manager. Here's a picture of what I mean:

Anyone else having this problem???

I'm the only one having this problem?

Any help would be greatly appreciated...This is a huge pain as I haven't been able to solve the problem and have been instead just using WMP.

I also sometimes get this problem (I am Vista x64). Reset the PC - that usually fixes it. If you are trying to launch the windowed version, try the full-screen version.

Get the latest SVN build, if you haven't already.

Make sure you have real gfx drivers installed (ie from ATI, Nvidia or Intel) not the worthless ones from Microsoft.

Anyone else frequently having this problem like I am? I'm having to restart everytime I close XBMC and go to open it again, which is a pain since my HTPC is lodged behind my entertainment system.

I have the NVidia gfx drivers. I really have no idea what it could be, I've never had this problem before. Anyone else with any suggestions?

You're going to have to help us help you. Describe the problem in detail. EXACT steps. What you HAVE tried. And pastebin a debuglog, if xbmc ran long enough to pop up some dumb preview thing I guaranty it made a log somewhere (not that I know where that is on vista, search the forums/manual).

Just wanted to say, for completion's sake, that this problem got resolved.

Unfortunately I have no idea how and I'm unable to reproduce it. Hopefully it was just a hardware or unrelated software issue
