I have a problem with duplicate movies, and it is not related to multi-part movies (cd1, cd2) so it is different from the problem described in this thread (http://xbmc.org/forum/showthread.php?t=39377).

I let XBMC (on my htpc) scan my movie folders automatically every startup. This all goes well. However, when I use my laptop to delete or move movies after watching, the next XBMC-scan does not remove them -- the entries keep existing. In fact, after changing a folder name (for instance, ASSASSINATION OF JESSE JAMES to THE ASSASSINATION OF JESSE JAMES), the movie pops up twice in library view.

The only method of getting rid of this is setting the content to 'none' and then adding all movies from scratch... which doesn't seem very logical.

Anyone?

I have the same problem too. The only way I have found to solve this is to go to file mode and manually delete the movies I dont want in the library mode anymore. Im sure there is a better way to solve this problem so Im very excited if someone have good ideas. :D

Have you ran the 'Clean Video Library" call?

We never remove items on update. Only on clean. Reason being that we can't be sure that we have access to the shares properly. (ie a server could be down)
