Hi all,

I am running XBMC on Ubuntu 8.04LTS on an i686 system. Here's the XBMC info I get from my compiled version:
XBMC pre-8.10
SVN:15940

So I wanted to test the python script capability, so I followed the basic tutorial found on this website, to create a simple 'hello world' button under the section "Pad Button":
http://xbmc.org/wiki/?title=HOW-TO_write_Python_Scripts_for_XBMC

From XBMC Script GUI, when I click on this test script, I get a blank, black, hanging window until I right click to exit.

So my questions are:
1) Does python script work at all on XBMC-linux?
The documents I've been reading seemed to indicate that the scripts should be moved over to an Xbox.
2) Is it just the GUI script that is not working?
3) Are there any python scripts that work for XBMC-linux? I noticed that quite a few people have already posed this question and attempted to start a list of scripts, but no one has posted anything. If not, I conclude that python scripts do not work on XBMC-linux.

Thanks,
Joanna

post your script and a debug...sounds to me like you may not have added the control.
