View Full Version : microAtx\itx with HDMI (DVI) and S-VIDEO\COMPOSITO
Hi all :)
I have a lcd with HDMI input and a old crt that have only scart\s-video\Composite input.. i'm looking a mobo microatx\itx that i'll use with XBMC live but i can't find any mobo with any output for crt tv. Any suggestion?
You can have a look at the Intel D945GCLF2 Mini-ITX motherboard, based on dual core Atom 300. This board has S-Video output (more info here (http://www.intel.com/Products/Desktop/Motherboards/D945GCLF2/D945GCLF2-overview.htm)).
It should be able to play up to 720p without problem (see this page (http://xbmc.org/forum/showthread.php?t=37656&page=4) for successful playback on Atom 230 CPU (single core)).
thanks... this is a very nice itx mobo (i love these intel miniitx), but as i can see it hasn't a DVI or HDMI output :(
i can use VGA output with LCD monitor too but i think dvi\hdmi is better

Luka87,
DVI/HDMI is better if you watch HD movies you need it and second not a lot of monitors (LCD) support 1920x1080 on the pc vga inputs I think most are limited to 1600x???
I would suggest using your hdmi input or a DVI to hdmi input from even the new asus eebox it is a complete solution small, wired or wireless, dvi and analog or spdif output. usb fron and rear quiet and small and even comes with a bracket you can mount on the back of your LCD. It will play 1080p although not well currently but does 720p perfectly. you can upgrade the ram and the hard drive. I am currently considering putting one in my truck with a 7" lcd touchscreen and XBMClive running on it.

eeebox is a little bit expensive for my goal (250 EUR on ebay). Atom itx is cheaper (80+ram+case = 150-180). Any one know any intel itx with both s-video and dvi output?
i use this xbmc system to watch divx\xvid video and mp3.
edit: eeebox has not s-video
The Intel Mini-ITX boards with Atom CPU do not currently have DVI/HDMI output (unfortunately).
You could try to find a discrete graphics PCI card w/DVI output to meet your requirements
There are otherwise some Mini-ITX boards that have both S-Video and DVI output (such as the MSI MS-7199 or the VIA EPIA EX 15000G), however these have a VIA CPU, and may be more expensive that the Intel Atom boards.
Another option is to get the Intel DG45FC (has HDMI and DVI-I outputs), and get a low-end PCIe x1 graphics card w/S-Video output.
such as the MSI MS-7199
does it works with xbmc live?
