Yes I'm aware that you can setup your remote by manually editing the xml files but it would be more convenient to be able to simply have a option in the Settings menu to do a setup such this.
Displays Keyboard shortcut Play button ---> Press the playbutton on your remote now.
And then it captures and stores the values of the remote in a config file. You don't have to worry about Buttons exactly matching the casing or names in your lircd.conf to what XBMC wants then. It also would allow other lirc remotes to be easily setup with minimal pain with XBMC.
