i set up a box with xbmc so my old guys can have fun by watching something - hopefully - good.
now: mum likes to have a match of some very old mame coin-op sometimes (tetris and all the like), and it was *really* hard to tell her al the steps required to reach the "mame" icon. "ok, move the cross thing once to the right. ok, now, down. now press the green button"... and so on. she wrote down the whole procedure. luckily, playing media is far way easier since xbmc autoplay it all with no need to touch the remote controller or the joypad! (and mame still require some handling while it's running, but that's another story).
now, here's the idea that could make life of some people easier (hey, it's not so new, but it's missing in xbmc): configure a xml file of auto-run applications if some button is pressed when xbmc is waking up. that is: it would be nice to assign "e:\emu\mame\default.xbe" to the yellow "y" button, and so on (with other emus or whatever else), in a way that if the "y" button is pressed while turning on xbmc (of course, as the default dash) it would automagically start the associated application, saving some time and more important keystrokes.

what about it? i know 1.0 development is not inserting (almost) nothing new in it, but it can be a nice idea for the 2.0?

please gimme feedback. thank you very much :)

hey, this can be fine for lazy people too :) and it's a feature that a full feature dashboard like xbmc shouldn't miss!
