I've installed XBMC on my Apple TV and it works just fine. But where do I go from here. I need to set up sources, but can't seem to find how to do that. Can someone point me to a "what do I do now" thread? I'd also like to set up AFP, if possible, since ssh is a little more than I'm comfortable with, and since I'd like to install the flash plugin (seems easier via AFP). Any input/direction would be most appreciated...

Each section (Pictures/Videos/Music etc) only shows files that apply to them.

What kind of files are these? What is their filename extension? Also, I'm assuming you added the particular directory as a source inside XBMC?

Adding sources (might be a little outdated but it still applies to Apple TV):

AFP is not supported natively in XBMC. However, SMB and UPnP are. SMB is preferable if you want to scan your media into XBMC's library. Here's how you can set up SMB from OS X:

I see how to add a source, but when I browse the various options, it's all empty. I assume the correct locations exist, I just don't know what I'm looking for. Since I have Movies, TV Shows, Music and Photos already stored on the Apple TV, I'd expect to see files when I browse to the folder "Music", but it's empty. So my question is, what is the location (on the Apple TV) of the various media files, so I can add the source inside XBMC so they can be played? Thanks for your input.

I recently installed XBMC on my Apple TV and it shows all the directories as empty.

I used WinSCP to transfer files to the /mnt/Scratch/Users/frontrow/Movies directory. That worked fine but when when I went to that directory from the Apple TV it turns up empty.

The files I transferred were three different types: .avi, .divx, and an iTunes .MOV. None of them were visible when I was trying to add media to my library on the Apple TV.

Anyone know what I'm doing wrong or how I can solve this?

Nevermind! Of course I was finding no files, I was just selecting the directory!
