Not too many significant changes this week as we've tried to take stock of what we've changed recently and tried to make sure it's all working correctly.
There's been a few additions to the sub menus on the Home screen as XBMC was changed recently so it no longer allows the user to start at Movie Titles and then navigate backwards (it will now take you back to Home if you try and navigate back too far). This meant we had to add more sub menu items to allow you to access stuff like Recently Added etc directly from Home.
Currently the lighter version of the theme is the default theme so if you want to see it in it's full glory then you'll need to select the Richer theme in the settings.
Over the coming weeks we're hoping to switch it around so that the richer theme will be the default and you'll need to select the lighter theme if you're having memory problems.

The changes since the last release are as follows:
Added: Glass overlay to centre album in Coverflow view and tidied up the shadow overlays
Added: Quick letter navigation indicator to Coverflow view
Added: Option to display episode thumbs on the projector screen area of TV background
Added: By Genre, By Year and By Actor, Recently Added and Video Plugins menu items to Movies and TV Shows sub menus on Home (also added By Studio and By Director for Movies)
Added: Playlists menu items to Videos and Music sub menus on Home
Added: Suspend and Hibernate menu items to On/Off sub menu on Home (for non-Xbox platforms)
Added: Portuguese (Brazil) translation
Added: Initial FAQ document to the root folder of the skin (faq.txt)
Added: Change History document in root folder of the skin (changehistory.txt)
Fixed: Position of context menu in music screens when icons are hidden in list view
Fixed: Made sure background for weather info for Home is only shown when there is weather info to display
Fixed: Login screen to work better in default theme
Updated: Tidied up positioning of images displayed on the projector screen area of TV background
Updated: All Video menu item on Videos sub-menu on Home is changed to be Clips
Updated: Dashboard menu item on On/Off sub menu on Home should noly display for Xbox
Updated: Tidied up displaying of watched/unwatched overlays in list view
Updated: Dutch, Greek, Swedish, Spanish, Chinese (Traditional) and French translations
We really need your feedback so please post if you have any comments, suggestions or feedback and we'll aim to deal with them as soon as we can.
PLEASE NOTE: The skin is being developed based on the latest version of XBMC (T3CH release for Xbox and update to date builds for other platforms) so please make sure you have the latest version before posting about any problems.

First off, I just want to congratulate the entire Team on creating the single best theme I have ever used (both on XBMC and MythTV). This skin is so amazingly professional looking that it puts anything commercial to shame. THANK YOU for making this theme. It was the deciding factor for me to switch over to XBMC from MythTV.
Now on to the question: Is there a way to set the default menu item on the home page to something other than the Weather? Movies are the main reason I use XBMC and I'd like that to be the default. Thanks!

when i turn on the xbox it defaults to weather as the highlighed selection. how can i make it tv shows instead?
If you're comfortable doing it, you need to modify the Home.xml
1. Find the <!-- Main Menu --> section in the file
2. Scroll a little ways down from there (I believe it's line 1261) and you'll see the menu buttons listed in order - Power Button, My System Menu, My Weather Button, etc
3. The item displayed at startup is actually the 3rd one in the list (My Weather Buton), so what you need to do is move the "My TV Shows Button" content above the Weather content and you'll be all set. You can arrange all of the menu items in any order you want.
4. Make sure when you move the menu item, that you move everything between <item id="#"> and </item>.
Hope that helps.
EDIT: This will make the 'flashing background' bug re-appear though.

Is it possible to change the 'no thumb' icon on our own? it's so negitive looking... i'd rather just have a default picture or nothing instead of the icon.

System > Skin > Media Views and it's right at the bottom but I can't get it display them.
if i choose swedish some of the menus doesn't look good, otherwise no problems

Doh! It was only working if there was no fanart for a TV Show. I've updated the code for the next version so that it will display the episode thumbs in the projector screen if you have that option enabled and there is no fanart or you have the option to hide fanart for TV views enabled (hope that makes sense!)
Basically fanart and custom backgrounds take precedence over the default TV background so the episode thumb will only show up if the default tv background is showing.
are you guys working on coverflow for 4:3 for it looks just awful

I'm still getting random freezes running it on an original Xbox. They've subsided quite a bit from when I was using the hi-res version, but it's still a bit of an issue.

If you're using custom backgrounds, fanart or the full panel stream view (no visible info) then cutting those out should help

Thanks for the help, Hitcher. That was exactly what I was looking for. I haven't seen the flashing background bug yet but I'll certainly keep my eyes open. I have bigger problems with the current nVidia FX5200 WSoD (white screen of death) bug. What a pain :stare:

Guys (and Gals), doing a grand job. I was a massive PM3 fan, but now I've (just about) got to grips with using the library I absolutely love MediaStream (even my GF has warmed to it!).... Now with scraping and fanart it's leaps and bounds above anything else going. However on our poor old widescreen telly (sadly not flat panel!) the fonts are small, you addressed that with Massive fonts (thanks for that!), but this doesn't work in XBMCLyrics, a minor bug I know. Also BTW selecting 'Click for Lyrics' while playing a song from the menu in visualisation mode does nothing, should this link to XBMCLyrics, just another sweet little feature I would love to get working!

I've got another request though - could you guys add a setting to adjust the delay of the background changing (when you have a background folder selected)?

Not off the top of my head but the gist of the differences is that a number of the textures are reduced for the lite theme so that they use less memory. The only images that are not shown in the lite theme are some of the default folder images, view thumb images (currently missing but maybe added soon), keyboard dialog background/highlights and some glass overlays and fades.

This isn't a skin related issue so you might be better asking this in one of the main XBMC forums but it could be related to your sources.xml file?

Regarding the new submenus for TV Shows and Movies I can see the new additions on the Home screen, but I'm still able to navigate backwards and pass through the old screens, which shouldn't happen... Can you please advice?

Probably as you don't have a new enough executable. The feature was only added very recently - r15673. Also, note that said feature is not finished, but it works for the most useful bit (home -> movies -> home).

any chance of adding Party Mode to hang off the Music menu on the home page? such a pain to go into Music every time, open the option menu, load up the play list, exit the play list, close the option menu..... ahh (i tried to figure out how to change th xml files to try and make it happen but couldn't figure out if it was even possible)
or even better add an option to load Party Mode on start up.....

When I try the skin, I get a wierd issue with TV episodes, I will go and will show the series and how many episodes, but when I select a series' episode will say it has a certain number of episodes as if its a folder and then lock up if i select that file, anyone know whats going on here?

Agitator, why did you go to a another partition using a "G" drive? Is there a benefit to that? Just wondering because I have an Xbox with a 400GB HDD and have a mundo large "F" partition. :;):

Hi,
I have proposal to make scrolling in lists a bit better.
When I scroll in lists that do not fit on one screen, the list starts to scroll when I'm at the lowest item that fits on the screen and press down (same as the top item and pressing up).
I think it would be better if the list scrolls down/up when going down/up from the second item from the bottom/top. It will then also be a marker to the user that s/he will only be on the lowest item if it is the last in the list.
At least I tend to scroll one item to far since it is hard to notice when you have "arrirved" at the correct list position.

just a quick question on the media preview view,
the thumbnails you scroll through at the bottom,
what is the format and quality of these thumbnails when they get displayed?
Also the main poster that shows in the movie information, is there anyway
to improve the quality of these images?
