Hello I'm running Xbmc Beta1 on a Vista x64 on an Intel E5200
but When Xbmc is on tranferts from another computer on the same lan network to the computer with xbmc Slow down from 50Mo/s to 14Mo/s. If I kill Xbmc it come back to 50Mo/S.... I don't understang why...????
How are you gauging performance? Are you measuring time it takes to copy a file of size x and doing the math or relying on the information from the progress bar? Also are you transferring while a movie or song is playing, or is XBMC just sitting idle when the performance is down?

the computer I'm using is a Mac and I have a utility to see the speed for outgoing and incoming transfert. Just the fact to lunch XBMC (without playing or anything) make drop the speed drom around 50mo/S to around 14mo/s, tested via Smb shares and ftp. I will try wil linux XBMC but I son't know well linux enough to install it

Download XdN Tweaker, available here:
http://xenomorph.net/?page_id=336
Install. Click on the "Vista SP1 & 2008" item on the left. Under "Network Throttle," change the throttle to 50% and hit Apply.
See what this does.
