Hi,

I was wondering if there was anyway to use a static Xorg.conf file that is generated by the nvidia-settings program under Ubuntu 8.10. I'm trying to set up a system based on the Intel G45 so I can't use 8.04.

Thanks in advance for any pointers.

Just copy the settings to /etc/X11/xorg.conf

But I'm curious, why would you want to use the nvidia settings for an intel chip?

Because unless I don't want to watch any video in XBMC I can't really use the Intel video now and I have an Nvidia 7300 plugged in. Sorry, I should have made that clear.

The Xorg.conf that nvidia-settings generates does not seem to be compatible with the Xorg included with Ubuntu 8.10.

Actually the Intel integrated video does work with 8.10 alpha 6.

Do you mean to say it doesn't have tearing issues and the HDMI output is working fine?

I have the Gigabyte GA-EG45M-DS2H (http://www.gigabyte.com.tw/Products/Motherboard/Products_Overview.aspx?ProductID=2877). I'm interested with your experiences with a similar setup. Did you have to do anything special to get it going?

The only problem I have with video is sometimes X freezes when closing XBMC.
