I was going to say that it's been a fairly quiet week this week and not much in the release but I've now gone through and compiled the list of changes (see below) and I'm more than pleasantly surprised! There's been a number of fixes and updates and quite a few new options for changing the way some of the views look and work.

The changes since the last release are as follows:
Added: Ability to showTV fanart on projector screen in background image (has to be enabled in skin settings) - see image below
Added: Option to show a more animated version of Media Preview view (based on mod by anoobie) - see image below
Added: Fast Letter Searching (when scrolling quickly through a list it will pop up and show you what first letter you are currently at - useful when navigating large lists)
Added: Option to show music visualisation details in horizontal form (along the lines of the video OSD)
Added: Trailer icon to Media Preview view which will show when a movie has a trailer that can be watched
Added: Version of file browser that works better when navigating for non-image files
Added: Proper icons for the music visulisation buttons
Added: Music Now Playing UI to Weather screen
Added: Shadows behind thumbs in Panel Stream view
Added: Chinese (Traditional) and Portuguese translations
Added: Seek slider (hopefully) to Video OSD (based on suggestion by Waffa - needs testing)
Added: Option to hide custom backgrounds in movie views
Added: Option to hide fanart in TV views
Added: Record button to Music OSD
Fixed: Music Now Playing UI for 4x3
Fixed: position of button in OK dialog for 4x3
Fixed: Width of wide icon in Wide view to match width of plot text
Fixed: Sizing of Last Refreshed label on Weather screen
Updated: Entering Movies/TV Shows on home now returns to recent position in library (where possible)
Updated: On/Off menu item on Home now activates Shutdown menu when clicked
Updated: Fonts and positioning for the labels in the top part of media screens (Movies, Music etc) so that they fit better when using larger fonts
Updated: Widened the Music Visualisation Settinsg dialog
Updated: Moved the sub-menus on the home screen up slightly (to make sure they don't run into the RSS area)
Updated: OSD icon images (make sure they all have a similar design and no icons with letters in them)
Updated: Mouse pointer images (should now be a bit more in keeping with the rest of the skin)
Updated: Spanish, Swedish, Polish, French translations
We really need your feedback so please post if you have any comments, suggestions or feedback and we'll aim to deal with them as soon as we can.
PLEASE NOTE: The skin is being developed based on the latest version of XBMC (T3CH release for Xbox and update to date builds for other platforms) so please make sure you have the latest version before posting about any problems.

i've set a images folder for the tv background to have images show when on home screen pointing at tv shows, it shows them in the background.
but now with the fanart on projector screen on i'm getting the tv fanart in place where the projector is but it's on top of images from the folder in setting.
is there a why to have both images folder for the home screen and the tv show projector working at the same time?

Nice skin!! Works great on the latest XBMC build for linux but I can't figure out how to get to the 'Scripts' section. Under PM3, this brings up the scripts in ~/.xbmc/scripts/My Scripts. I do see 'Programs' but I don't see an intuitive way to execute python scripts.

HOW DO I INSTALL IT? Full installation instructions are included with the skin.
I'm unable to find these instructions. I know how to install, but I need instructions for how to change custom backgrounds and more info about what the mediastream custom settings do.

Sorry for that oversight. I have amended the website and anticipate that once we reach V 1.0 we will include a full description of how to utilise all the functions / features within MediaStream. At present as the skin is evolving it would be like shooting a moving target.

In the main menu, I find "biofilmer". I guess the english says "theatre" or something like that. What's that? It's empty when I select it.
Another question: In settings I can choose to disable "apple movie trailers". So I guess it's enabled by default. But where can I find the trailers? It's not in the main menu.
Another question: What are the recommended dimensions for backdrops when using a 4:3 TV? All backdrops that I've downloaded so far looks "squashed" on my TV using your skin. I cannot recall that this was a problem when I used Aeon.

HI all! I've checked the last version of Mediastream for the new option of fanart in file view mode. I don't know why but when I download a bakcground fanart of one movie in file mode, it doesn't shows the background, only shows it in the library mode. I don't know if I'm doing something wrong, or maybe the fanart it's only for the library view.

I've set up the backdrops folders correctly. But when entering the main screen some backdrops become black. When I enter "movies" and then go back to main screen, the backdrops will show again for movies. But when I restart xbmc, it's black screen again...
Another issue: always when entering tv shows, I end up in movies. I've set up my sources like this (see below) and I've also set the content type on my tv series folder to be "TV".

Works fine, but when I want to hide the info I get a new screen back that can't be right. Also can't choose both options hide info media preview/show animated media preview.
I presume the bizare screen happend when you hid the info on the Options Menu. This option should have been removed as the way the page works now it needs to reload fully before the changes take effect. (It has been removed for the next release). Yep, currently those two options are an either/or, you can only have one of them on at a time but I'm going to look into making them independent.

Yep, it does seem a bit flakey (no settings to change, then close it, open vis selection and the re-open the settings again and it shows the settings!) Will look into it

Not sure what your problem is, but it works fine for me. Are you sure your using the albums view for the right media? (If you use it on a non-music list it won't show text)

Fanart shows in files mode but I'm not sure if you need to be using the library to have it scanned in first?

That part I understand. What I dont understand is how to find the link AMT inside MediaStream. I would assume that the link to AMT would be in the main menu - but it's not there...

AMT isn't part of the skin, you can find it (if you have it installed) in either System -> Scripts or within your video plugins
It is skinned to fit in with the rest of the MediaStream skin but AMT itself isn't part of the skin
The Horizontal Music bar looks really good but the previous track is showing the next track.

That would be nice. I like them independent, so I can have the option to hide the info. (Not thumbs and cover).

As noted in the following post and the one that follows it, I concur that the issue with the selected video being reset to the top of the list only happens with the Info List view.

If I go to the Skin settings, I can set a custom bg for Movies, but this sets the bg for both the Home screen (when the Movies button is hi-lighted), and also the bg for the Movies screen. I just want to set a custom bg that shows when the Movies button is hi-lighted (replacing the default pic of the cinema seats).
I see an option in the Skins settings called "Enable Custom BG's on Home" and that sounds like what I'm looking for, but then I can't find a way to actually specify the BG's I want to use... I also tried looking for the default BGs in the skin's folder, thinking that I could just replace them, but I wasn't able to find them.

I thought placing your own images in the 'Media' folder would do what you want but I tried adding my own images for 'HomeBGMoviesRight.png' and 'HomeBGMoviesMid.png' and nothing happened.

If you set the movie background in the normal way and then select enable on home and also select hide custom backgrounds with movie views - that will then show the custom bg on home but not in movie screens.
Currently you can't have separate custom backgrounds for home and movie screens.

Thanks for clearing up how these options work. I hadn't tried "Hide Custom BGs with Movie Views" because I thought it might also prevent the fan art from displaying. Good to see that's not the case :) Will you be adding similar options to hide custom BGs with TV Shows and Videos views (and maybe others)?

I just wanted to chime in to say how awesome this skin is. When I first saw it, I was really bummed, as there was (at that point) no 4:3 support. Since they've added it, it's been my default skin on the ol' XBMC.
The additions in this newest version make it all the sweeter.
One question, though: Is there a way to up the font size for the episode/movie info? I'm on a regular tube TV, and it's near impossible to read the episode descriptions. I poked around, the other day, and couldn't find a way to set the font size a little higher. If there's not currently a way to do that, could something like that be implemented?

For several of my movies and TV shows, I have multiple fan art images. Can the skin make the background cycle through these, or perhaps pick one randomly, while a movie or show is hi-lighted? The files would be named

etc...
With regard to the image on the projector screen -
a) Is it possible to stop it showing the original screen when transitioning between shows?
b) Thought about adding it to the Epsiode level?
c) On my PC some appear quite jaggy but don't on the Xbox (probably not a skin issue I know just wondered whether anyone else is getting this)?

As far as I know XBMC itself only supports one fanart image per movie but if that changes then we'd be happy to show whatever it provides.

I want to first congratulate anyone who has been at all involved with this skin. Truly remarkable piece of work.
I am using this with the latest SVN build of XBMC. I have had quite a few more freezes when MediaStream is enabled over Project Mayhem. Maybe you are already aware of this stuff though as I am relatively new to the skin, but it's done this the past 3 versions.
If I scroll between options on the home screen really fast, the splash images disappear and quite often the entire program freezes. That's a big one.
Another thing I have noticed is odd incompatibilities or freezes when playing certain video files. They'll play great in Project Mayhem, but then fail on MediaStream with the same options (only setting I change is Skin).
Also, some video files I play in MediaStream don't allow me to use the d-pad or analog stick to skip ahead or back. I just get the info box. Playing the same videos in Project Mayhem allows me regular skip around ability.
Finally, and this is an extremely minor nitpick, and maybe not fixable, but the engine is fairly picky at detecting tv show episodes. If files are not named very precisely with title and episode and season number, they are not detected. But I realize there must be limits.
I can make these bugs happen pretty regularly. Again, I don't want to complain as I think this is the coolest thing I have ever seen XBMC do. I just want to help you all make it perfect!

I'm guessing you're using the xbox and these sounds like memory issues to me. In the next few weeks we'll have a new liter theme available specifically to help alleviate memory issues on the xbox.

I still haven't solved this issue. But in Aeon there is a specific setting that enables the linking between the menu and the sources. It's found in Aeon -> Home Shortcuts. There I can specify what source I want to use for a specific shortcut.
It would be great if you could add this option to MediaStream as well. This is a must for anyone that is using file view...
4:3 Looks great!!
I have to admit that a couple weeks ago I was excited to hear about the 4:3 support, and then when I downloaded .89 and .90 I wasn't seeing any difference in 4:3. I was busy and then on vacation, so last night I upgraded to .91 and realized I needed to change the "PAL" folder to "NTSC" now 4:3 is looking great, I can read the episode names, and descriptions from far away, the TV episode layout is looking awesome! Both the media preview, and showcase views look great! I've just started to use it so if I notice issues in the 4:3 resolution I'll let you know, but this is the best my Media Center has looked.

Interesting! I wasn't aware that the skin had memory issues on the Xbox. Will the liter theme be a stripped down version? I'd hate to lose features.
I can pretty regularly crash MediaStream by just flipping thru the main screen options really quick for about 10 seconds, I can't help but wonder if other Xbox users are experiencing the same.

Liter theme will still have the same features, just the textures that make up the display will be reduced to lighten the memory load for the old xbox
I'm using the old xbox, use all features, got a lot of fanart but can't complain over the memory. I have memory problems but, I know it's low. So I give my box the time by using the harmony remote (setup fast as possible), it zaps a little bit slower. XBOX really likes that.
That's not a bad idea, actually - I should get the codes and toss that into my Harmony for the old xbox. I always find myself using the xbox wireless remote but there's no point really. I just wish I could power it on with the darn remote!
Liter sounds like a great idea though, that rocks. In the meantime I'll try my Harmony!

Wow, great skin guys! Solves all the issues I have with Aeon, fantastic job. I have a few questions though:
1) How do I get the fan art on projector screen thing? I looked through the skin settings and didn't see the option anywhere? It currently just shows my fanart in the background, or if I set it to hide fanart it shows my TV backgrounds instead.

Hmm apparently I can't edit my post so I'll double-post. After using it a bit more it would be really handy if the Media Preview and Showcase modes had the letter display when you scroll quickly like the List does. It's a great way of telling how far you've scrolled as they whip by you, especially in the views with no text to catch a glimpse of.

1) How do I get the fan art on projector screen thing? I looked through the skin settings and didn't see the option anywhere? It currently just shows my fanart in the background, or if I set it to hide fanart it shows my TV backgrounds instead.

Yes I have that unchecked, even with the blade on the left it takes up about 1/3 of my 1080p screen. Most pictures are missing quite a bit with the left 1/3 covered up, it really detracts from the cycling backgrounds when you can only see the right side of the picture.
Is in there for the next release

I've been using media stream since build 88 or 89 and left click doesn't really work in the home screen; it works sometimes when one clicks to the very left of the text. Is this intended behavior? Sorry for poking with this, but with so many "minor" refinements why has this been unaddressed?
That's not a bad idea, actually - I should get the codes and toss that into my Harmony for the old xbox. I always find myself using the xbox wireless remote but there's no point really. I just wish I could power it on with the darn remote!
Liter sounds like a great idea though, that rocks. In the meantime I'll try my Harmony!

Just a note, don't get me wrong, it's just weird seeing this kind of bug kept alive on a project that has such high standards and refinement. If it's been overlooked or something, please fix :)

Chill friend, no need to get worked up about that :p. I'm just wondering how it got overlooked since it's a pretty major bug IMO. And now that media stream is the default skin, the pressure is on :nod:. But, thanks for letting me know its status. Your efforts and the team's are very appreciated ;)

Oh you are right, sorry about that. Eh I guess I got confused by Plex and the fact that whenever I update XBMC I keep the same settings, ie media stream. My bad :rolleyes:

I use a remote too, PS3. But, whenever I do any configuration or HTPC set up I usually use the mouse. I'm also thinking about new users, who download XBMC to their PCs and the first thing they try is clicking. I've recommended XBMC a couple of times and I've seen some first impressions and first time users are usually confused even by PM3. Imagine if I recommend media stream, and the mouse doesn't work... not good. But anyway.
It's nice seeing PM3.HD getting more mouse support and a more streamlined UI. Kudos for them. Hopefully Media stream will address that issue soon.

Hi there, i have an normal 100hz 16:9 tv, and your skin fits it almost perfectly.
Only the smaller fonts are unreadable, and it doesnt matter if i change the font..
Is there a fix for this?

I thought that issue was already fixed a few versions ago? Can you try and remove the MediaStream folder and re-installing v0.91 new and see if you still get the problem?

I had this problem too. You need to upgrade to a newer version of xbmc. Once I did that all was fixed.

I'm also still seeing this issue using 0.91 with the latest T3CH. Strangely, it's only in the Music section. In TV Shows the menu comes up fine.
Absolutly LOVING this skin, I didn't think Aeon could be surpassed but i'm totally amzed. I can see this becoming my default skin !
One thing though, and I know its been mentioned before, I would like the three Vid links from the main menu to link to compeltly seperate sources.
As it is I have an old PC that I use as the storage box. It has three drives containg various Merdia types. I have a folder for each of the following, Movies, Horror, Anime, Dr Who, Music Vids, Cartoons and Televison.
I'm tring to set the source for each of the three menu links, Videos >> to the Dr Who folder, Movies >> to the Movies folder and TV Shows >> to the Television folder but no joy, each button will just remember the last folder set as default.
I've checked the Wiki documentation and all my sources are created.
I'm wondering if I need to start from scratch since i've been copying over the Userdata folder since I first starting using XBMC over two years ago.
Any suggestions?

I recently d'led this excellent skin for my original XBox (hard-line streamed via Cat5) and it looks great...
However, I do have at least three questions off the bat (sorry) --
1) I have my files structured as follows My Music >> Artist >> Albums...when I get to the albums part, the album cover appears on the left rather than the right...error on my part or is there something I need to do?
2) Music (again) -- Is there a way I can get a scrape of some sort that gets little thumbnails for the artist in that structure, i.e. instead of seeing a folder, can I have a thumb of the artist instead under this file structure I have in place?
3) Currently -- from an old set-up on PMIII, my movies are listed as my videos, so when I flip to Media Stream, the movies don't show under Movies; they're under Videos...is there a way I can 'flip' that without it being a pain?
I think that's all I got for now other than I have the current version of XBMC and Mediastream v0.91...

Choose the Albums view

I'm guessing you're probably not usig the library? The Movies and TV Show options on the home screen are designed to be used with the library, the Videos option is for files mode
