Hello,

Consider me a library noob. I've been using files view for so long.

I've got most of my shows scraping properly with the exception of a few talk shows I watch. TVDB doesn't list these in season-episode style so I'm a bit perplexed on how to get these scraping properly. The general naming format is something like this:

The.Daily.Show.08.29.2008.DSR.XviD-MOMENTUM.[VTV].avi
The.Daily.Show.09.02.2008.DSR.XviD-MOMENTUM.[VTV].avi

Has anyone else been able to successfully scrape talk shows and get them in the library? Again, I apologize if my question is noobish in nature.

Does TheTVDB.com (http://www.thetvdb.com) even list TV Talk Shows?, and if so how exactly?

???

It does, but the fashion doesn't seem to have any rhyme or reason.

I guess what I'm asking is, is there any way to have XBMC default to files view for a specific folder if it can't successfully scrape the information for that show? If not, I'd like to suggest it be implemented in a future release.

If the above filenames had:
s13e111
&
s13e112
in them they would probably scrape correctly.

(yes they are listed by season / episode, that's what the numbers in front are)

Yep, that did the trick. Looks like I'm going to figure out how to automatically rename them since the source filename isn't in the correct format.

Thanks.

You might want to hold off on renaming all your files. People mess with the talk show entries so much on our site that trying to match the numbers isn't really worth it. They're suppost to be entered with each year being it's own season but then if even one episode is missed it throws off the numbers and if someone comes in and tries to fix it later it just makes it worse for everyone else because all the numbers change again.

There are plans to allow searching for shows by air date, once that is in you'd be much better off using that since the numbering could change without messing up your episodes. Of course I'm not sure how long that will take as once we add it to the site an XBMC dev will then have to add support to it for XBMC.

Anyways it's up to you if you want to wait and see what happens or match it up right now but I can't promise the order won't change.
