I live in a college dorm, and I have my xbox wired to the wall. In order to get unfettered access to the internet, you have to be authorized by a system called LanAuth. Basically, when you try to navigate to any website, you're redirected to a login page where you input your campus username and password.
Is there any way to have my xbox automagically log into this thing? I can do it in linksbox, but that sucks to do every 3 days.
Thanks
Internet sharing might be your only option:
You could possible try to do internet sharing with your computer in your dorm. If you have a desktop you can add a second network card and it might work. If you have a laptop with wireless access to the internet you can do internet sharing also through the network port.
I've been in a school where they lock down the network like this. It's not fun. It's possible they won't allow internet sharing at all. You'll have to read up on their policy.

I have a laptop, so installing a second network card is a clunky solution. I have thought about running behind a router, but this cuts me off from lots of campus services that don't work that way (network drive & smtp server). They don't really care what it is that's getting on the network and allow PS3's openly. As with my xbox, logging in is just so tedious. I'll have to get with campus to see if there's a workaround.
