Paused video dosn't resume

When pausing a video streamed from another source than local HDD, using ftp protocol, the video does not resume properly (+5 min pause give or take). Is it because the ftp session has timed out? The only thing that is played is the video in the cash I guess...then as I said, it stops.

Does this only occur during a ftp streaming sessions or are other protocols affected as well?

Just to clarify. All devices are on a small 100 Mbit LAN so no network bandwidth/congestion issues.

yes, it's timeout. all http and ftp streams are affected afaik

reviving this post because its a common problem and annoying my media its in a server and everything its stream.
if the video is paused and I select and play another one the first one will not resume after that.
if I select another video while the current one is playing the first one resume fine.

the problem is when you paused the resume is reseted
