So I'm following the following guide:
http://www.xbox-hq.com/html/xbox-tutorials-260.html
It has been a relatively idiotic process on my part from the start, including forgetting one of the screws when opening my xbox, and breaking an IDE cable.
Now that everything is said and done I have completed the process twice, and it just WONT WORK. Both times when it was all said and done I plugged in the new HDD and rebooted and got the Xbox error message RE: getting the system repaired. (the green and black screen.)
I'm trying this for a third time. Just to be clear I have followed the instructions to a tee. Yes, I am remembering to lock the drive. It just won't work!
The drive I'm copying to is a 160G HDD, would that be an issue somehow? Because I'm really at a complete loss.
The one thing I can say is that there is one discrepancy...in step 11 of that guide it says that once the actual clone process is done it will have me choose "exit" to return to the main menu - that doesnt happen. When it (appears to be) done, it just goes back to the main menu by itself.
Anyhow, after this third try I'm just going to give up. I may go back to trying another method I'd found, which I haven't yet tried with my new PC. But this is getting tiresome. :\
