Dear forum,
I would like to ask you something about my NAS device. If this is not the correct forum, please inform me, on which forum, I can post this thread.

Let me explain you the problem I have. The HDD I have put inside this device, is formatted on FAT32 format, and it has 12 folders. The one of them, contains about 3500 music files. So, when I try to access this folder, through my LAN, it stucks and I have to wait much time to access the folder. Also, when I am trying to play music, using Winamp or Windows Media Player, the program is not responding for a while, and then it plays the song. That problem is not presented when I am trying to access other folders(which have more less files). Also, this problem is not presented, when I access the NAS through ftp.. Through ftp it is working perfect!
If you have any idea or any advise, please help me.
Thank you very much for your time.

You really need to give more information. Through what protocol are you accessing the files.
And you really need to give a full debuglog (xbmc.log) when XBMC is trying to access them.

Cheers.

The protocol is SMB. I can not give you the debuglog because I am not trying to access the NAS through xbox.. I am trying through my pc(Windows xp service pack 2).

I've moved this thread as it has nothing to do with neither XBMC or XBMC for linux.

Cheers

The problem is that you have 3500 files in a folder. When you access the folder it tries to get information about ALL of the files. If you break them up into sub folders you'll have a much easier time.
