There are a lot of guide about using the Wiimote on PC, I think a simple Google search could help you a lot.
First, check if your dongle is in this list (http://www.wiili.org/index.php/Compatible_Bluetooth_Devices) or this one (http://www.wiibrew.org/wiki/List_of_Working_Bluetooth_Devices). If it's in the "working" list, check if you need to use Bluesoleil or Widcomm.
If it's not listed, or if it's not written which you should use, try with Bluesoleil first by following this tutorial (http://www.wiili.org/index.php/How_To:_BlueSoleil). If you need Widcomm, it's probably bundled with your dongle, just follow the tutorial here (http://www.wiili.org/index.php/How_To:_Widcomm). If you don't have though, download it here (http://www.broadcom.com/products/bluetooth_update.php).

Then, well, just download GlovePIE here (http://carl.kenner.googlepages.com/glovepie_download), load a Wiimote script and try it! Note that, to use the Wiimote pointer as an accurate mouse, you'll need to use a sensor bar (or something that has the same purpose).
I don't know if a script was written specifically for XBMC, but GlovePIE scripting language is pretty ease so you can always tweak an existing script to fit your needs.

Hope that will help, but this is just a basic summary. If you have any problem, you should probably try to find a more detailed tutorial on Google, I'm sure there are already thousands of them.

I have planned on writing a WiiRemote EventClient for Windows but I can't say when it's gonna be done, hopefully before Atlantis release but definatly before Atlantis+1.

Cheers

It's quite simple!

I'm using my WiiMote with GlovePIE for XBMC all the time.
Let me know if you need more help.

For what i know there is no GlovePIE scripts for XBMC well actually there is but its for the original xbox. This one I did myself just to be able to navigate without a keyboard.

Here are some other scripts:
http://www.wiili.org/index.php/GlovePIE:GlovePIE_Scripts

If you want to learn how to write scripts wich is not that hard go to youtube and search for GlovePIE Tutorial.

I have posted a modified version of iNDEPENDENT's glovePIE script for controlling XBMC on WiiLi.org
http://www.wiili.org/index.php/XBMC_for_Windows_Control

As far as I know for windows the only way to get the wii remote working is with glovePIE. If there is a way to have it detected as a game controller by windows I would be very interested.

Many thanks for this awesome glove pie script. I am using it with the keymap.xml and am blown away. I was just about to buy a remote control until I saw this.

One problem I have, since running the script in glove pie it now shows both in windows and xbmc the N01 blue LED light on the wiimote as on. Can I turn this off somehow as I want to save on battery life?

Many thanks in advance

EDIT: Do you also know if there's a way to control the mouse cursor with glovepie in windows using the wiimote and then click on the desktop shortcut xbmc.exe and then continue using the current scrip the way it is with the wiimote? This would be awesome if possible!

What I'd like to know is..

Can the wiimote acceleration be recognised by xbmc. For example, you have a list of albums, left to right in Coverflow view. Can you use the wiimote to scroll through them, and if you swing it left/right further than the position you currently hold it, have it speed up the scroll?

(I hope I've explained that alright) ???

Cheers
