Changing background pictures

What are the dimensions that I should use for custom backgrounds.
I'm using a front projector with my xbox set to 720p.
I'm assuming 1024 x 720.

Also, where did you get the default background images?
Are there more images available from your source?
If possible, I would like similar style images that would blend in with your default images.

I love this skin on my front projector. Its projecting on 100" screen and it looks fantastic.

On my xbox I use 960X540 for my custom backdrops and see no difference really at 720p. And this has helped a lot with getting "black" backdrops. I use XBMC media companion to get all the fanart.jpg images for the movies I have then used irfanview to re-size everything.
