Unfortunately due to a communication breakdown we didn't make the T3CH release this week but we've updated the website with the latest version, which you can now get at http://teamrazorfish.co.uk

The changes since the last release are as follows:

Added: new Panel Stream view (by default it shows some info as xbox can't really handle filling area with thumbs)
Added: Option to hide info on Panel Stream view (not really reccomended on xbox)
Added: Option to hide info on Media Preview view (based on Hitcher's idea)
Added: Option to hide fanart on movies views
Added: new Massive fontset
Added: Some of the media specific options are now available from the slide out Options Menu (as well as within Settings screen)
Added: Dutch and Hebrew translations
Added: Option to hide thumbs in List view

Updated: Added extra international characters to fonts (this is experimental so we need feedback if anything is still missing)
Updated: Re-arranged the Skin settings page (seperated media specific options into new section)
Updated: Swedish, German and Greek translations
Updated: Increased size of script info dialog

Fixed: Position of Remove button in Smart Playlist Editor dialog
Fixed: Animations into Settings screen when Home blade is not centered
Fixed: Issues with navigation on the Add Network Location dialog

Thanks again for the feedback, keep it coming and we'll attempt to keep making improvements and fixes as we gradually creep towards a v1.0 release! :;):

PLEASE NOTE: The skin is being developed based on the latest version of XBMC (T3CH release for Xbox and update to date builds for other platforms) so please make sure you have the latest version before posting about any problems.

Thank you for a great update.

Am I right in estimating that you're aiming for a fortnightly release cycle?

Yum...that panel view is very nice. I'd like the option to put the rest of the info on like media preview. And...the ability to add another row of covers along the top (3rowsx4). Now I'll have a play with it on the xbox. You guys deserve a bow - so I give you one :D

Is the list view broken? When I'm browsing movies (not using library mode) using list view the dvd cover for the selected movie is overlapping the list on the left side. I suppose the movie cover is suppose to be on the right side. List info view works fine though.

At the moment it's supposed to be weekly (in line with T3CH releases)

Any thoughts on having a SVN?

It will happen someday but only once we've finished the initial release/development stage (ie when we get past v1.0)

Had some weird issues with this one. All my added moviesources who used to be in list view was now in wall stream(or something), all subfolders that is. Reverted back to 0.87 and all was fine again.

Some of the id numbers for the views have changed in this release. If you are unsure of which view you are using (or it doesn't look right) then make sure you have selected the right view.

When did T3CH change back to weekly releases?
I thought they were releasing every 2 weeks?

It's because of the run up to release of the next point release of XBMC (in October I think)

.88 is sweet!!!
FYI, make sure you have the latest XBMC installed.
I was having context menu issues with my July build of XBMC but the latest build from TeCH fixed it.

I'm having a similar problem with the latest release. When I go into "Watch Your Videos" instead of seeing the icons which lead to different areas, I get No thumbs..

I'm confused, which view are you having a problem with, is it List or Panel Stream? Your issue looks to be with no thumbs in the Panel Stream but you have quoted scarfa's issue which is to do with the list view?

I've done some testing of the Panel Stream in files mode and it works for me. Do you use library mode at all?

I admit I am using MediaStream on a XBOX viewed through a 21" CRT but what exactly is "Added: new Massive fontset" doing when I switch to it as I see no difference in any size of font. I tried refreshing skin and also reloading XBMC after changing setting but no difference?

Skin looks good though just not good for my eyesight - look forward to full 4:3 support.

Can you copy XTV's coverflow? - that draws me back to XTV skin every time I try a new skin.

Cheers - keep up the good work.

now i have to wait for a native 4:3 version. but with the massive fontset, its usable :)

I to found the font size some what less than massive. I think you need to look at the font size in PM3 as it was developed before Extra large screens were common place. To get a good feel of what is needed for screen under 32inch Focus is the only modern skin that's got this right up to now.

The "massive font" was definitely bigger but could do with being increased by at least 50% to make easily readable on my 22inch set. The stylized font is probably contributing to the legibility problems, the main area that needs looking at is media description's

thanks for crating this skin and sorry for bitching its only because I'd like to be able to use it

I'm pretty sure the fonts don't have any effect on a 4:3 TV.. they don't change at all. I too, look forward to 4:3 support.. seems to be quite a few people who want it. Enjoy the skin.

I would love to see some screens as well. Got a lot on over the next few days so probly went get to try the update for a while, but would definitely love to see some of the changes.

Also, is there a timeframe you are aiming for with a v1.0 release?

Are you using the most recent T3CH release? As it looks to me like the bit of code that's using conditional includes is not working and that feature is only in the newer releases.

Yeah maybe something like how Aeon does it with that warning that pops up when you first start it, because my xbmc build was just a couple months old so I gather other peeps will have the same problem.

Hi skunkm0nkee!
Thanks for including my proposed changes, PM3 is now obsolete. You asked for feedback and I have three things that would make it look even better.

*Swedish characters now works but I think the kerning (is that the word?) is slightly off. You can see that on right aligned text ending with swedish like PÅ (ON) which gets cut e.g. aligned too far to the right and outside the text rectangle.

*The blue shadow thing on the clock, just add am/pm placeholder for both foreground and background and all formats works. I scanned through all languages with this and it works for all.

*In 0.88 panel stream somehow became the default browse video layout. What I mean with default is that any folder that is viewed for the first time gets that layout, if you for example connect a new NW drive or run a plugin. Is it possible to make list info the default? I think all plugins would benefit from that.

Again thanks for the effort making the best looking skin even better,

MrZ

Updated: Added extra international characters to fonts (this is experimental so we need feedback if anything is still missing)

Greek characters are completely missing. That is if a filename is named "Ζήτω τα καινούργια μας iPhone.avi" the only thing displayed is " iPhone.avi". As a workaround I replaced Mediastream fonts with Arial Unicode, but it makes the skin look ugly.
Let me know if there is anything can do to help

I posted this in the Plex forums yesterday and it seems one other user has the same issue.

IMDB ratings and stars are no longer visible in Media Preview view. They are still scraped (available in the Movie Information sheet). Please tell me this info hasn't been removed from this view!

astr0b0y...are you experiencing this issue on plex or xbmc? If xbmc then I'm sure one of the support guys will get back to you.

If plex, then I'm sure one of the plex support people will get back to you on the plex forums. We do not support plex-related issues I'm afraid.

astr0b0y
2008-08-31, 11:12
Fair enough, just thought this might be a skin related issue only and not that of the platform it was plugged into. I notice this in Plex only, but I can't seem to figure out how to use the latest release of MediaStream with XBMC Atlantis, so can't test with that.

astr0b0y
2008-08-31, 11:18
Actually, just worked it out. This problem appears in both Plex and XBMC - Star Rating is not visible on Media Preview view.

skunkm0nkee
2008-08-31, 18:46
I've had to remove the check on the Rating. The code was setup so that it would not show anything if the rating was empty but for some reason the code that was checking the rating was saying that the Rating was empty, even when it wasn't!

<visible>!IsEmpty(ListItem.Rating)</visible>

Would always be invisible for some reason?

Massive font are better but not enough.. i use PM3 without any probleme to read it for year..on a normal 3éinch tv (normal = not LCD)
I LOVE your skin but some font are really small to read them correctly. can you please make a font pack like the PM3 one, idont know it's perhaps stupid to ask this... but really i like your skin and want to keep it.. but it's hard to read.. too small.. better with massive font but not enough... perhaps it's the font style and not the size.. i dont know..

keep on, it's a good work guys.

If non 4:3 users think that fonts are too small then please post screenshots of the areas where the fonts are too small for you. (4:3 is being developed currently and the font sizing will be slightly different to the standard 720p sizing).

As I've mentioned on a few occasions I can't just increase font sizes across the board as there are a number of areas where increasing font sizes would need design decisions and compromises as the text just wouldn't fit in. I need pointing towards specific areas and screenshots (or very detailed descriptions) will give me something to work from and will also help me understand where the font sizes aren't sufficient.

Why are ppl complaing about the font? Even on my 54" hdtv it looks fine.

Because different TV sets look different from each other. A 54" 1080p or 720p set will display text perfectly, but a 1080i set will make it a little fuzzy. As a result, those of us with 1080i sets enjoy skins that have a "OMG that's HUGE" (that's what she said?) option. I personally think the Massive font solves the issue pretty well, but my TV might be calibrated better than some other people's.

because we use 32" 16/9 (or less) and not LCD perhaps.... and that PM3 is fully ok about fonts. for me Mediastream is better than PM3 i want to keep it.. but for this i need to read correctly all text.. than not the case for the momment...

I have had MediaStream install for a while and recently tried to update to the new one. For some reason when I move the folder into my /skin folder it shows up fine in the folder but I don't see it in XBMC. I don't understand why. Is anyone out having this issue? I use the PPA install of XBMC and have SVN 15111.
