it would be awesome if someone could code a script to control a replaytv (like the scripts that have been written for tivo). scheduling and deleting recordings would be great. i guess you could even pull in the program guide and also stream live tv (maybe). anyway, it would be awesome.

replaytv is lots better than tivo anyway!

thanks,
j.

there is already support in xbmc for replaytv. i like the way that the channels are listed in the tivo control script, very nice, and i will be using that script as soon as i get my direct tivo in a month or so.

as for the remote scheduling, as long as your replay is a 5xxx series, you have remote scheduling capabilities, and there are plenty of examples out there to do it.

as for watching live tv, that is already possible.. =)

if you have your tv on a channel, it is recording a live buffer. if you goto my videos > replay tv (make sure you have /video in the xml) and it will list the file names) sort by date and the most current date is the current buffer.. =)

i use that all the time so that i can watch the same thing in two rooms and pause and such.. =)

i will see if i can dig into the replay code in cvs if i find the time and see about updating, maybe adding some scheduling for the 5xxx folks, and the control thing should be easy for changing channels, as all version of the replay allow that via a simple http command.
