Does anyone here have experience running XBMC on a Dell Inspiron 530N Ubuntu 8.04 system?
Intel® Core™2 Q9300 Quad-Core (6MB L2 cache,2.5GHz,1333FSB)
2GB Dual Channel DDR2 SDRAM at 800MHz- 2DIMMs
250GB HD (I'll add my own larger drives later)
16x DVD+/-RW Drive
Radeon ATI HD 2600 XT 256MB
Integrated 7.1 Channel Audio
$649
While I'm capable of building a computer myself, selecting compatible parts always seems daunting to me. I'm willing to spend the extra money if it will all come ready to go, without worrying about compatibility.
I'm interested in full 1080p playback via dvi to my TV, and want it to handle anything I can throw at it. Are these specs ok? Is the Radeon ATI HD 2600 a good video card, compatible with XBMC? Or should I get an nvidia card? Hows that CPU?
Any advice would be greatly appreciated! :)
