Hello,

I have installed the alpha 3 of xbmc on an Ubuntu 8.04.1 minimal.
All works good except 1 thing (and the 100% cpu pb ^^) : AC3/DTS.

I have created 2 users. The first (called "toto") has many rights (default in Unbuntu) et the second (called "xbmc") is member of group "toto" and all groups where "toto" is (audio, video, admin, ...).

With the first user, I have ac3/dts (I must select "stereo in all hp", my tv don't know ac3/dts). Here all work good.
But with the second user, impossible to have ac3/dts (on dvd or mkv). Do you have an idea which rights I must check ? (or an other solution ?)
With the two users, stereo sound work good.

my config is : core 2 duo, 8500gt (with audio over hdmi), last nvida drivers, last alsa drivers.

Axys.

You'd probably have better luck with a question like this in Ubuntu's forums.

Hello,

I have test a bit more. If I plug an ampli, ac3/dts works great
I go in menu dvd and set option "stereo in all hp" then I see the ampli switch to "pcm 48hz" but then after less than a second switch to ac3/dts ...

Can you say if "downmix" is made by an external software (who has not the rights ? )

thanks,
Axys
