Bit of an odd one, and not really sure if this is the place to put it, but seeing as I'm using XBMC for linux, thought I'd put it here.
I have an old xbox with a big HDD and XBMC (obviously), over time i've ftp'ed a fair few films over to it still compressed in RARs, no prob cos they play fine.
Now I have 3 more machines all on the same wireless network, 2 running XBMC for windows and one (which will be a dedicated HTPC - when i can f*in sort out ATI drivers) with XBMC for linux.
I've set the Xbox up as a UPnP server and can browse to it from the linux box - the prob is because the files are .rar i can't see them from my UPnP browse on the linux box.
So the Q is: Is there a way of getting rouind this using UPnP (I suspect not) or is there a better way (a la samba) to browse the old Xbox and stream the films in the RARs from there?
TIA, sorry for the long post.
