I have read through the FAQ and saw the list of NAS' that will work. Could someone tell me if the:
HP MV2120 500GB Media Vault
Will work, I looked at the specs and I don't see SAMBA listed, but I thought that since the HP MediaVault MV2010 and MV2020 was listed that the above would work?
Now, I am new to NAS and I do know that basically I could just build my own, but I do not have the time and if this will work, would save me some time. (I think)
Thanks in advance for your help.

One undocumented feature is that it works perfectly with my Mac as well as my Windows box. I just mount the drives via SMB and also the iTunes streaming works without configuration.
my udnerstanding is that samba and smb are basically synonymous (at least fro xbmc funtionality purposes) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Samba_(software)
regardless, im fairly confident that you shouldnt ahve a problem with the drive.

Yes, Samba, SMB, and CIFS are all the same thing in this respect
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Server_Message_Block
http://xbmc.org/wiki/?title=NASXBMC already supports SMB/SAMBA/CIFS (and UPnP) network-protocols, which many NAS devices support. It is also possible to stream via FTP to XBMC, however this is not recommended because the FTP network protocol was never designed for audio/video streaming. Therefore, FTP streaming will not be covered here and is not officially supported. To stream from a NAS device to XBMC simply setup a SMB/SAMBA/CIFS (or UPnP) share on the NAS with an optional username and password, (once you have configured its network settings and connected it to your network), then add a media source for that share in XBMC.

Hey all - I thought I would follow up and let you all know that this product works great. It was easy to setup too. Took about 10mins total!
