power button not working

Well just like the title says my power button is not working. Now what I have to do is use the eject button for the dvd drive to turn it on and then I shut it down one I am in the Aeon dashboard. However this is getting annoying and I hate it. Is this a known problem after years of manually turning it on and off? What should i look/test for? I saw the XIR mod that allows you to turn it off by the remote. Has anyone used the non-solder kind? Also if I buy one will this be a fix? Any help would be great. Thanks!

I've got the same problem with my XBox and via the following page I've confirmed it's a problem with the mobo rather than power switch board.

As per the comments on that page I'm going to remove my mobo and check for any corrosion on the bottom of it.

I bought a Xbox as is and it would not turn on. Took it apart and noticed underneath the mother board some solder points came lose. Just had to fix them quickly and was back to normal.
