Suggestion: A simplified view for movies that focuses on fanart and minimizes the poster size.

I liked your original with the animated view of the poster flipping around, except I didnt like the animation and the placement of the upcoming covers.

Just coverflow it in the left corner where the previous and next poster has a slight opacity on it.

Ohh and some fancy DVD and CD cases ;) *hmmmm AEON, specifically the modded version has the Movie posters surrounded in what looks like a DVD case, I think this is pretty slick.

The Media Preview view with info turned off is pretty close to what you are asking for already?

As for using cases etc, you may see a mod that does this but the official MediaStream skin will not. At the end of the day if we make our skin more and more like Aeon (as you seem to be suggesting) then where is the choice for users if all skins looks the same?

I really love this skin, but the font is just really small. It is kind of hard to read plots and sometimes file names. Can this be modded?

Have you tried changing the font sizing in appearance settings we have 2 larger font sizes included which increase the plot size etc. I use the Bigger version myself on a 37" screen.

I have tried the massive font, and it is great except for the movie info, I want to enlarge the plot of the movie larger than it is already. Is it possible to do that? I am on a 480p widescreen edtv.

The MediaStream skin is my favourite skin by far, however, there is always some room for improvements. ;)

Every view in the movie library mode has some pros and cons. So I tried to make a mock up with different elements that imho would be the perfect view mode.

Easy to navigate, it shows of the fanart and all the information you need on one page:

Tell me what you think of my suggestion. And I hope the developers will take this into consideration, because it would make me very happy. :D

One little difficulty I have when using MediaStream is getting out of Music View and back to the Home screen once Music is playing.

Normally the Menu button takes you back to the Home screen and you can browse photos/movies/etc with the music playing in the background. But with MediaStream the Menu button brings up a "music playing menu" and it is very difficult to get back to the Home screen (without pressing STOP that is)

Or am I missing something here? ???

I absolutely F..etc etc love this skin!! You guys really have thought this through and i have to commend you all on a great job well done! my old XB has now got a new lease of life, and Ive just bought a 42" plasma to celebrate. I drink to your success. cheers guys.

Here are a few **ahem, items ive found during my general usage...

My System
: XB Classic v1.0 Executer 3 w/LCD case mod .. more detail avail if you want it.
: XBMC T3CH Latest SVN Build with Mediastream 0.95 (beta2)
: XBMSP (Media file xstream) running on x64 server, 3mib ADSL, D-link wireless AP to netgear 108mbps wireless router.


Bugs Found :
#1 - When in movie info, changing the default thumb, if you don’t wait for the full list to populate before choosing a new thumb and then exiting, the system hangs. (3mibs D/L)

#2 - When scraping a share after setting content, if you attempt to start a new scrape. system hangs

#3 - After creating a large database, entering into movies hangs the system. ive fixed this by deleting the Video folder in userdata/database and the .db itself. but for some users this is going to be a hassle. (I had an old version of xbmc on XB for a while, before finding media stream, so most prob had an old database)

Suggested enhancements:
- Ability to Password/PIN a "folder" (prob XBMC functionality that one) button combo to unlock would be a nice touch, especially when in need of a porn boost. (Nothing worse than scrolling through an on screen keyb. When your dying for a W*** :)

- When recursively scraping for movie info, if the default thumb is blank, the spider should use the next available populated thumb, but it doesn't. could be done via a)simple .jpg file size check, or b) on a count of jpeg data > 1 in the jpeg checking routine.
Currently, a "no thumb" icon is used, and this means plodding back through the list and adding manually.

- Would like the ability to move the "scanning info window" so that i can read through the movie info/text/writeups i have already scanned, while im performing a new scrape.
Scraping is a time consuming process, and im one of these who likes to flick through my movies text, while im waiting. seeing as i can't watch anything while im spidering

- Can I watch a movie while spidering/scraping a share.... please please please add this, it’s a tricky one I know ...

- Could you add a queuing system to the interface, allowing a series of commands to run when you click "GO" this way i could set up a list of tasks to run, check them through, and then fire them up b4 going to bed.... mediastream could collate my list and be ready for me to use next morning. this would be awsome!

btw, I’m a c# programmer, so if there’s anything i can lend a hand with, just let me know... happy to get stuck in.
CSS skills a plenty, as well as accessibility know now.

Looks like there is something messed up with your installation as that works fine for me. Try deleting the MediaStream folder and re-installing it. Also make sure you are using the latest version of XBMC for your platform.
