So with the following conditions I managed to keep the free memory at about 10000KB and there were no instances of videos not playing or artwork not loading.


All backdrops are resized to 960x540
Thumbnails are at default (196)

Budwise, I changed the Clips main menu item to say "kids" - is this what you mean? If so, I had to make the change in two places.

1. HomeScrollers.xml - open in notepad or something, and then do a search for the word "clips". You should find it in a <label> tag. Just change the word to KIDS or anything else you like. This changes the CLIPS menu item on the home screen.

2. Open MyVideo.xml and search and replace the word CLIPS again. Again, this will be in a <label> tag. This one is the word the appears in the top bar of the video window after you enter the KIDS menu from above.

Finally, don't forget to turn on the CLIPS menu from the Aeon setup menu.

In theory, you can then change the path that the window displays once you click on the menu. I found this worked fine for me in the Windows version, but I can't get it to work in the Xbox version. I just go to the root video folder. In fact, if anyone can give me some advice on why I am getting this behaviour, I would appreciate it.

I can't remember what the behviour used to be, however I seem to have a problem with fanart for tvshows in the last few builds / versions of the skin.

So yesterday, I have just done a clean install of T3CH 15th July, with Aeon 11c. I find that

a) Most of the series have have any fanart show up, even though it is scrapping the show correctly, and there is fanart showing up on TheTVDB.

b) For all series, even the one that has fanart showing, when I move in to the series and episode level, I'm not getting any backgrounds showing - just the blank grey background.

Anyone else having these problems? Do you think it is XBMC or Skin related? In particular, whats the correct behaviour for the episode level - if there is no fanart, is it supposed to pick a random tv show background, or just display the grey background?

I love the new changes but have one concern form a guest and kid usability standpoint. It is possible to remove the ability to get to settings from the everywhere but the main Settings menu? This would help when kids and guest are messing around and going into thing they don't need to get into. I like to lock the views, so I love to remove unwanted views... so it is along the same line of thought.

Great skin.. I love it!

A quick questions, when doing lookups via thetvdb of tv shows, the show thumb is set to the wide banner icon, which doesnt work too well when using the fantastic new showcase method. Doing a thumb selection does not allow me to select the posters that are listed on thetvdb, it only shows the banners.

Is there anyway to select the posters, or do i need to download each pic I want and copy them over to the xbox, then select it as a local file for the thumb?

goodness me....I enjoy Aeon with the rest of the community, but can we NOT have so many Aeon threads in the forums please. As a suggestion Dunc, why not change your website to incorporare a shout function or whatever...that way you could respond to any support issues there?

I didn't split and abandon the old one for some mischievous end, like depriving other skins of coverage or creating the illusion of popularity. The fact is that thread was moving at 2-3 pages a day, making it impossible to navigate or extract information from. Hell, I check the forum daily and couldn't find what I was looking for.

People post to say thanks and to suggest new things. They post to report bugs, many of which have been noted already. They post to ask for help, often requiring a half-dozen posts from various people offering solutions. Throw these together at the rate described above and it's chaos; all I'm doing is restoring order for the benefit of everyone.

Of course, if every skin author did this then the forum would become bogged down - I understand that. So if the mods decide that a sub-forum would be better then I'm more than happy with that. So far, though, the response to the new threads has been almost entirely positive, so in principle it's the right idea.

There is a problem with the episode-level wallpaper: when there's no fanart, nothing displays. I'll look into fixing it today.

The torrent links on the website don't register as download links, and clicking on them produces a page of gibberish characters. I typically have no trouble with downloading torrent files-- Something wrong with the link formatting?

I thought about that but then you need to choose a profile when using... PITA. I'd rather just lock the settings since there is no reason to be in those 99.9% of the time anyway. I never understood why people wanted access to them from places other then the config menus.

... We really need subforums for more popular skins (AEON, Vision, Vinci, etc) but there was pushback on this. It is reasonable, and common on the net, to have a few threads for a popular item (skin or whatever) since one massive thread is too much to manage. Having posts, no matter what type, on another site defeats the purpose of having xbmc.org... the point is one-stop-shop community, thus having a tighter knit community, more sharing, more progress.

DJH, I have to ask you a question...
Ever since your first 720p versions of the backdrops Ive saved them all to my computer. Later they came in 1080p BPM, and then JPG.

I've sorted them out last week, and found out that there's still some backdrops in 720p you havnt releast in 1080p. Is that possible.

I've got a little bit crazy and I want them all, caus some of the 720p's was really nice. Also some of the versions you got in 1080p BMP i still cant find at your site.

I realize I might sound a little dumb, but I couldn't find the answer since I didn't see anyone else asking this.
I downloaded the latest Aeon skin and clean installed it onto Plex, the osxbmc. I retrieved all the information for my TV Shows and yet two weird things happen in show case mode. the first is that when I go on episode level, the thumbnails are in poster shape so the image is squeezed. The second is that for some reason I don't get the plot comming onto the screen when holding for a moment...or never.

also a suggestion about cast.. Why cant we retrieve cast pictures from TVDB and cross them with other movies or TV shows they appeared in? I know there is this option on movies but not on this skin.. anyway, I didn't see it. just an idea though, since the pictures are already there...

About the plot, play a little witheht hide plot option, I think you have to enable and disable it again.

After a lot trail and error I've found the best way to avoid running out of memory (on my Xbox at least) when using fanart on AEON.

I don't know if there's a specific minimum amount of free memory needed for XBMC to function properly but will running my tests it appeared that dropping below 5000KB caused backdrops/fanart not to load and videos to not play.

The biggest memory hit I found was in TV Shows. While displaying the backdrop and posters AEON slides the selected poster to the side and loads the fanart - memory would drop well below 5000KB. I assume this is because it's still storing the backdrop and posters, so when the time comes to change the random backdrop for another (even though it's not being displayed) XBMC doesn't have enough to perform this function and you end up with a blank backdrop.

My Xbox is running in 720p mode on a 42"plasma. Backdrops still look great at 960x560. It tried fanart at this size but it doesn't look too good (jaggies).

I made a ntoe of it in another thread, but on the xbox sd resolutions are quite useable with this skin. Resizing backdrops to 720x480 keeps things moving quite fast. The text might be a bit unintelligble unless you have a large set (I'm at 46"). Not that I would suggest hd users drop to sd, that would be silly.

We don't cross-reference them between different series yet on TheTVDB, so it'll not work perfectly on the XBMC side. In addition, once we do get that working this is an XBMC request, not an Aeon request. I suggest you post it in the feature request section on the forums.

There was a banner option in the previous release for wide icons and I assume it's still there now.

It's in the Aeon settings, so push up and then over to the Aeon tab. As noted however, the now playing and the rss feeds will be deactivated.

It's 's' on the keyboard, and seeing as I'm using EventGhost I just mapped 's' to a button on my remote. You may have to change the keymap as it's 'right thumb stick in' on the Xbox controller I think.

I have my music in folders (sorted by iTunes) so to add them to the music menu I point it to the iTunes folder on my PC, but when I go to play something I then have to choose the artists folder, then an album folder, is there a way that i could just choose an artist and play their songs without having to go into the album folder?

A lot of graphics cards can't handle what you are trying to do on the second monitor. This is probably a limitation of your card. I know my ATI card will bog down quite a bit when doing anything that is graphics and memory heavy on the second monitor. Try running it on your main monitor and if it works fine then you'll know whether or not it is a limitation of your card.

Hey Duncan, would it be a lot of work for you to add a dialog window that shows the current state of adding movies/tvshows? The way it currently is you do know it is doing something but it is hard to tell if it is hanging up or still working hard. A lot of the other skins have a progress bar and let you know which file they are working on and it would be awesome if you could add that to the list if possible.

I can't get it going on the TV, but Media center works fine with all the files, as does WMP and VLC so it's not a limitation of the card

On the Aeon site, Dunc says to use the batch command with Irfanview and convert the JPG images to TIFF. How do I make a batch command to convert the filetype and also resize for Xbox + SD (WS) TV? I don't know how to do it or even what size to resize to.. Maybe 1024 x 768?

First off, don't use TIFF, use BMP. I keep meaning to change that.

Using Irfanview, you can set advanced options for the batch command that add things like resize and resample to the process. So set it to convert to BMP with advanced options set, then configure the advanced options to also resize to whatever dimensions you had in mind. I never had problems with 1280x720 on Xbox, but you might want to downscale even further to be on the safe side. You will lose fidelity in HD, though.

I've tried this and it does show up in the Aeon menu however the button doesn't respond.

Does some1 know the reason to this? And does some1 know how to make this work? I really love this feature of the xbmc and i don't see why it isn't implemented in Aeon..

Okay i've just made an autostartup.py with

import xbmc

pls = xbmc.PlayList(0)
pls.load("q:\\UserData\\playlists\\music\\startup.m3u")
xbmc.Player().play(pls)

in it and added

xbmc.executescript('Q:\\scripts\Autoplay\\Autoplay .py')

to autoexec.py wich made everything work.

However i'm still interested in why it didn't work ;)

I made a few changes to the the startup playlist scripting.

My xbox boots and plays a random song streamed from my PC (if its on) saving me HDD space on my xbox. Sweet!

To do this you must first scan your tracks to the XBMC library and create a playlist from them. Putting the playlist in Shuffle mode makes sure you get a different track every boot.
Its best to set up library & the playlist using the PMIII skin first.

I too had the unresponsive button for a while. Not sure why.
But after trying again, it worked a treat.:grin:

DJH_: I hope you can find the time to add this little feature in to a future build. Love the skin and cannot wait until its perfected. :)
Just as a side note, which you maybe already aware of, the tutorial prompts sometimes display on top of other text and so becomes unreadable.
Same with the script prompts that appear at the bottom right of the screen.
Cannot think of an exact example atm, but if you need more info about it just let me know.

okay i just tested it on windows again using the t3ch builds the backdrops work now.. but my main machine is running linux and i compiled it myself using build.sh script. So are the t3ch builds only for windows or can it be used for linux?

I am having the same problem. In an earlier install of Aeon I had all the movie backgrounds showing up correctly. Now when I use the same movie image folder I only see black. I am running Ubuntu 8.04 and have a Core2Duo E4300 chip and have 2GB RAM so that definitely shouldn't be a problem (especially since the image folders were all working previously). Just wanted to let you know to see if something in the new release changed to cause this. Let me know if you need me to test anything else with this...

Got latest build of XBMC (14418), updated to latest Aeon skin and problem still happens. I did the refresh settings with Aeon as well. I will try rebooting the machine now and see what happens but it seems the problem still exists. I know that that backgrounds were working perfectly a version or two previous with XBMC and Aeon.

Let me know if others have seen this or if you have ideas on a fix.

After a lot trail and error I've found the best way to avoid running out of memory (on my Xbox at least) when using fanart on AEON.


So with the following conditions I managed to keep the free memory at about 10000KB and there were no instances of videos not playing or artwork not loading.


All backdrops are resized to 960x540
Thumbnails are at default (196)
All fanart is resized (if needed) to 1280x720


My Xbox is running in 720p mode on a 42"plasma. Backdrops still look great at 960x560. It tried fanart at this size but it doesn't look too good (jaggies).

Hitcher, I've followed all of this and still seem to be suffering memory problems on my xbox.

In TV shows I can play shows (most of the time) if I stick to list view, but when on 'episode' view I select a show but it will refuse to play, either freezing the xbox or just not playing.

I've resized all backdrops and fanart to 960x540. Where are the settings for thumbnail size?

Any other hints or steps you followed would be greatly appreciated.

Yup, just uninstalled XBMC, got the last stable release (the old one) and the folders are working fine again. the bugs that XBMC is trying to fix in these latest releases will just have to wait. Sorry for the confusion and at least now I know it's on the XBMC side. Thanks for all the help and ideas...

I get the plot when the movie poster is selected for awhile. But each time I'm at the movie info screen (i), the Plot Outline says "Not Available".

I'd rather be able to leave a movie selected but have it NOT go to the plot summary unless I push "i" (or something else). Is there way to set this?

Today I stumbled upon this great skin and it`s working with my XBMC for MAC. Finally I can send my old Xbox into retirement. :)

I have just a slight problem:
how can I select my music, movies, etc.? When I use Aeon all I get clicking the related topics in the menu is the preferences-setting.

If I scroll over the menu bar in the middle in the upper right corner appears "XBMC Setup Menu". I try to press back (right-click) but nothing changes.

For example:
I click on "music" and a menu is opening showing me: "General", "Library", "Player", "Files" and "LastFM", but I don`t find any button to open my music.

What am I doin wrong? I am sure this question is absolutly stupid, but I didn`t found any How-to/FAQ/etc. regarding the use of AEON.

Firstly, if you're using a mouse, stop. I can't speak for XBMC as a whole but Aeon certainly isn't designed for it, and you simply won't be able to navigate properly using one. Instead, switch the mouse option off in the Screen->Look And Feel section, and use your keyboard. You can configure your keyboard via keymap.xml in your UserData folder.

When you say Windows do you mean the last installer release or your own build from SVN?

Double check you've not missed any files in the AEON folder.

Given that I use the Windows build daily as a development platform, I doubt it's incompatible. Unstable, maybe, but that's the software.

Is there something I may be doing wrong? Would the xbmc log file be of any help? I really want to have my videos stored natively on the xbox to free up my laptop. Im not concerned with the visual effects either.

Latest installer from sourcefoge. I will try it with some of the past versions of XBMC for Windows and see if I can get it to work. I'll make sure everything is in the AEON folder as well. Thanks for the suggestions.

K, I am using my debug option and my available memory never drops below 34000KB, my FPS stays around 59.9 or above, and my cpu usage is at 35% at the highest.

I have 72 movies in my folder, and still it freezes when I scroll 42 movies to the right or 21/22 movies to the left in library/showcase view.

Ok, tested to see if XBMC and PMIII would freeze when scrolling through movies with thumbs, and it does.... Maybe an unstable T3CH release of XBMC? Does anyone know if there is one that I can use AEON with that is stable and won't freeze when trying to scroll through my movies????

I've have a problem with 13a (and 12a, and maybe older builds too).

On the xbox, using the right thumb to ff or rw music when OUT of the fullscreen view doesn't do anything. Entering fullscreen (x) causes any previous bumps of the analog to be applied very quickly. Works normally while in fullscreen.

Definitely an aeon issue, just tested pm3 and it works fine. Running the latest t3ch build (fixed build).

I can confirm this on 2 separate computers. I pointed aeon 13a to my folder full of movie backdrops and all I get is a black screen. I reverted back to the ppa build and that solved the problem on my desktop. I have to use svn on my media center or I can't play videos though. :sniffle:

That new Showcase view looks super sweet... thanks for the overhaul Duncs... sadly, can't make fanart work due to me having to reburn half of my movies onto DVD so they have fanart alongside them...

1. The only way to get movie fanart to work is to put an image file with -fanart appended to it in the same location as the movie itself... coz half my movies are burnt of DVD right now... so no way around that???

I think this should work.

Open the 'keymap.xml' (found in the Userdata folder) in notepad and add this to the Remote section -

<one>ActivateWindow(shutdownmenu)</one>

Now when you press '1' on the remote it should open the Shutdown menu. Replace '1' with another number if you so wish but not '3', '6' or '9'.

So much so, i'm thinking of dropping vista media center all together for it EXCEPT FOR ONE THING:

I'm running latest version of XBMC with Aeon on Vista Ultimate 3.8ghz | 4gb ram...but it crashes like crazy. I updated my graphic card drivers last night to see if it would help...but not so much diff.

Can someone shed some light on this? Which version is more stable?

Without making the obvious "this is about XBMC, not Aeon" comment, I'd say it's unusual to be getting idle crashes on any platform. I run XBMC on Windows XP when developing and it seems pretty rugged, though there are certain triggers that make it crash. My HTPC runs it on Ubuntu Linux, initially with Gutsy but now Hardy, and while it does seem to be getting more crash-happy rather than less, it's totally stable when idling.

I'd give serious thought to tweaking your RAM timings and system voltages, and maybe doing a thorough driver/BIOS update. And if it's an Nvidia card you're using, remember the fucking mess they've made of their Vista drivers from day one; maybe downgrade to XP?

I am indeed running an Nvidia card right now...maybe I'll switch to my old ATI card and give it a shot.

It did seem suspect for it to crash so often. Mind you it never crashed while idle...only when navigating through XBMC..but nothing intense.

My box is pretty beefy and I run 1080p content quite fast and smoothly, so it's some kind of conflict between the card/vista and XBMC I think.

Will report back with my findings.

I noticed that in the default xbmc skin, when you click "tab" to minimize video, it minimizes into a small video playing on the bottom left side of the screen, like in Windows Media Center.

It doesn't do this when I minimize using Aeon. Is this by design? Can the feature be turned on to show the minimized video playing?

Hey guys, just wanted to say I'm absolutely in love with Aeon, I was running Front Row 2 with Sapphire previously but with Aeon, there's no going back!

I do have a problem that's popped up, in that whenever I switch to Showcase mode in TV Shows, all my individual episodes don't have a thumbnail but is instead replaced by "Your Icon Here The Aeon Icon Project" this is also the case in menus such as 'Title' 'Genre' 'Year', etc. This seems to be a new problem that's popped up for me in the latest version.

I want to be able to access the Apple Movie Trailers plugin directly from the Aeon home menu, via a "Trailers" menu item.

I've had a scan through some of the skin files (Home.xml, homescroller.xml) but it's not obvious to me where to start.

Is this easy to do, or at least possible?

I have been ripping all of my TV series DVD's as .iso and naming them something like series name - s01e01 - s01e02-...- s01e10.iso. I found this to be easier to do than to rip each individual episode with the added bonus of preserving video quality and extras. Using the naming above works for getting the scraper to download all of the episode information however now that I am using the Aeon skin I am disappointed to find that the individual thumbs for each episode aren't used. Aeon appears to be only able to apply one thumb to the file. So I have all of the different episodes (i.e. name and description for each) when viewing a TV season in showcase mode but I have identical thumbs for every episode. If I try and manually change the thumb for one episode it changes them all. Is there any way I can get Aeon to show different thumbs for each episode even though I only have one file (.iso) for multiple episodes or am I stuck? ???

I noticed that in the default xbmc skin, when you click "tab" to minimize video, it minimizes into a small video playing on the bottom left side of the screen, like in Windows Media Center.

It doesn't do this when I minimize using Aeon. Is this by design? Can the feature be turned on to show the minimized video playing?

I dabbled with this once but the overhead, what with the backgrounds changing at the same time, was too much. Worked reasonably well on HTPC, but not on Xbox. I'll have another look at it one day.

Duncan... I just started using MOVIE FANART... they work too an extent... it's more the transition behavior in the MOVIE section of AEON... (the new Showcase does look amazing, and it's my inspiration for using FANART again)...

- Firstly, once I enter the Movie Library, I have to wait (20s) for a random backdrop to dissapear before any FANART will display...

- Secondly, after this, the screen goes Black until I select a new Movie, after which that movies Fanart displays (which looks amazing)...

- Thirdly, when I select another movie, the screen turns to Black again until the "Info" displays, after which that Movie's Fanart loads (i did notice the new selection's Fanart showing for a split second before the screen turned Black)...

- Fourthly (hmmm), after a few selection changes in the movie list, a random backdrop is loaded, after which I need to wait 20s before the screen returns to Black once again...

So, oh great leaders of AEON knowledge... is this an Aeon Build issue? an XBOX issue? or is something else at fault you can point out???

Any help would be greatly appreciated... Thanks for the great build Duncan!

It's an Xbox issue, I guess. Certainly isn't a problem encountered on HTPC platforms. Seven year old hardware, remember, for an app that isn't even called Xbox Media Center anymore. Many will pay lip service to it still, but we must be looking at its last days.

I have been ripping all of my TV series DVD's as .iso and naming them something like series name - s01e01 - s01e02-...- s01e10.iso. I found this to be easier to do than to rip each individual episode with the added bonus of preserving video quality and extras.

If you mean there is more than one episode per ISO image then you're stuck.

I can't understand why you'd want to convert a DVD series to ISO images though - it's a waste of space and they're in the exact same format as the DVD's.

A better solution would be to rip and convert them to xvid with little loss of quality.

yeah, i cleared the cache, but all the fanart has re-assembled by now i reckon... i reset the aeon settings a few times now... and no go... have tried really small fanart images as well, but that doesn't change anything... XBOX compatiblility mode is always on as well... debug doesn't show anything unusual...

one thing i've noticed... is that the fanart loads for a millisecond when a movie is selected, then dissapears to a black screen... why could that be... it's loaded, but doesn't remain there, then reloads after movie info is loaded... any idea where in AEON's xml code this process happens... i wanna tinker to see if i can get this feature to work...

One more thing, it can't be a memory issue, as I'm using 128 on my xbox... what u think chrisdaniels... does movie fanart work on your xbox?

I'm guessing it is an Aeon issue though as you say it appears then dissapears. Try looking in MyVideo.xml for the viewtype or Ctrl+F "fanart".

Just tested on my xbox: fanart works fine over smb share.
Update the library and let the xbox cache the images.

And to settle the argument over it being a memory issue, i am also playing audio at the same time, so it aint that.

OK think i've sussed out whats happening..

It is memory after all. When you view a film with fanart and the backdrop behind it cycles to the next image, it fails to load because of low memory and causes a blackout.
When the fanart unloads and the next backdrop cycles it loads fine again.

Maybe a change to Aeon where if fanart is loaded, the backdrop cycle pauses ? and when it is unloaded it resumes ?

This would stop the blackouts for sure but maybe hard to implement. djh_?

On a side note, in the AEON status page there is a heading for mods? is this active or just placeholder at present? whats the thinking behind it? custom views or something?

I am having one small issue now that I am done testing eaon on my desktop and moved it to the media center.

I have an SD media center hooked to and SD tv. When I try to play a standard def file xbmc comes out of full screen mode. is this an issue with xbmc or is it and aeon issue?

xbox has to do more work to decompress anything other than bmps. You will notice lag with everything else. Resize down to 960x540 too and test.

As you are running a hardware modified xbox with more memory, have you tried running without the Force Xbox Low Texture option ?

You'll then see the memory on screen. I had problems when it went below 5000.

I am also having trouble getting fan art to work.

When you say fan art needs to be stored locally, does that mean on the xbox hard drive ? Because I have my movies and fan art stored on an external hard drive connected to my network. I have followed the rules with the -fanart.jpg suffix, and in the same folder as said movie. But still I can't not get it to work.

On a side note, when setting to 720 I also had to change my video player resolution to 720. Otherwise it was also defaulting to 1080, so when playing a video my display was momentarily blanking as my receiver switched between resolutions.

A few questions... what is the resolution of ur backdrops and fanart... 1280x720?... and what format are they?...

If you're running XBMC in 1080i on an Xbox, you're fucked. End of. Never in my experience has XBMC run even half-decently at that resolution - it can't even keep the animation speeds up in PMIII. So if you're running Aeon at it, consider that a void of your customer warranty.

It's true... it's really odd that the next/previous listitem's fanart gets shown for that millisecond... it's like it's giving us a sneak peak or something... anyways...

would be nice if we could specify a single backdrop to sit on the background of showcase view without losing multiple backdrops on the aeon main page... and maybe, but i think this is pushing it... a fade out effect on a listitem's fanart, just think it would make things even more pretty ;)

Possible in that it judders into view while the loading interferes with the transition animations of the Showcase list. Basically, the loading of any backdrop will murder whatever's going in the foreground, be it a wraplist scroll or a zoom animation. That's why there are controls in place to stall the load until everything else has finished. Removing them would be... well, you've heard the one about the Twinkie in Ghost Busters, right?

File->batch Conversion / Rename
Add all (if you want all in the folder of course)
Output Format: BMP
Check "Use advanced options", then enter Advanced
Check resize if not checked
use Set Short side to: 720px, and check "Preserve aspect ratio"
Use no other settings here, click OK.
Define output dir, then Start batch.
Results looks wonderful on my 42"

Which is it? Is it the next or the previous one that you see when you move onto the next item for a split second?

I'm assuming its the old (previous) one and this makes sense. Xbmc's roots are the Xbox, so it runs in a huge loop. The info items won't update until the next iteration of the loop.

Are you on an Xbox? If so, make sure ytour backdrops are resized to 1280x720 (720p) and that you have "Xbox Mode" set to "on" in the Aeon Settings. Please let us know how that works out.

I know a lot of people are waiting on it. :) Someone could easily update the scraper on their own and submit a patch. I have the debug mode on and it doesn't dip below 12,000 and as far as I have read the point of no return is 5,000 so I don't think that is it. Perhaps I will try out the Xbox version anyways. I am still open for advice. Anybody?

hey guys, does anyone know how to make changes to the context meny ?? Heres my original message:

I seem to have a problem with customizing Aeon... when i'm browsing my video files, i can hit 'c' to display the context menu...

There are a number of options in there including 'Add to Favourites', 'Add to Queue', 'Go To Root', etc....

Now, I want to add/remove some of these options.... I know the actual strings are stored in strings.xml but I cant seem to find where these are being called... If i take out the label in strings.xml, the button goes blank but is still clickable... Is there a way I can altogather remove a button, for example remove 'Go To Root' option from the context menu ??

I had the same trouble with the selected episode thumb not showing up. I've just tried the xbox optimized build and its fixed it.. as well as making flicking through movies with backdrops a lot smoother. cool! glad to hear it

I am migrating from mayhem III to aeon and it looks great exept for TVshow banners(wide) they don't seem to be supported .So they just look weird in wall or showcase view.Is there a fix for that?

movies fanart scraping not supported yet although iv heard rumors of it hitting the svn and theres a new site for xbmc to scrape these images from - movie-xml.com so be patient its coming soon

Spiff did add it to SVN earlier this week, so it should be in the 8/11 T3CH release. Or you can compile your own to get it sooner. Or just grab the scraper file from the SVN and drop that into your XBMC. :)

Does AEON offer the option to see the movie playing in a small box on the bottom left of the screen??

I pressed "TAB" and I hear the movie still playing but don't see it.

Any chance this might be added?

Would be cool to get the option to play in small box while browsing or superimpose the part of the menu with transparancy over the video like vista media center does.

Mind you I much prefer XBMC...but the playing while small is kinda handy sometimes.
