View Full Version : Best version Xbox ?
Iv got a version 1.6 xbox and a 1.0 xbox, i remember hearing that version 1.1 to 1.5 was the best versions to get as on v1.6 onwards they dont display the correct temprature, is version 1.6 still having these issues or has it being solved in xbmc, iv being out of the scene for a while with the 360 but im come back :)

Hmmmmm... think you need to do a google on that info....
I have a stack of softmodded 1.6's!
there is diferences.... I've been hard pushed to see it but rumour is the slightly earlier ones are better ???

the only problem's with 1.6 are linux. they overscan horribly. apart from that i dont knwo of any

check xbox scene forums as stevwal has been updating xdsl linux and ironed out most issues on 1.6.
dvd drives are subjective but most say samsung most reliable phillips not as reliable but has good media comatibility thompson the least in reability but hitatich ? idk
as revisions doesn't matter but if you like to use vga via hombrew on is better to have connexant video most compatible then focus( both mostly on 1-1.4 rev) xcalibur doesn't work atm.
The 1.6 does have overscan issues but it can be adjusted.It is just hard to be smarter than the machine to get it done.You can even get it to work in 720p or 1080i if you set it up right.There is a thread on xbox-scene that explains this if you want to check it out.
Very happy with my 1.6 softmod

How do you tell which version your Mo Bo is?
Is there a post anywhere with images?

in xbmc, if you go to the system info page (click the right stick) you can see the version somewhere.
