XBMC for portable HDD Media Centres?

Hi guys,

we are avid users of XBMC with our modded classic XBOX. We like it so much that we would like to change the software of our 1TB media centre, which we recently purchased.

We dont like the software at all and would love to find out if XBMC is compatible with the newer external HDD Media Centres?

We would appreciate any feed back of directions on where to start looking to change the software....preferably to XBMC.

XBMC minimum requirement is a x86 processor (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/X86_architecture) and OpenGL graphic-controller with GLSL (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/OpenGL) support.
