This would be nice, yeah. Vimeo doesnt want to give out their flv's though afaik. I guess it must be possible to download them, though. The vimeo flash player does it after all.
Also, playing it using flash is probably not a good idea. Atleast on my ubuntu system vimeo is totally unusable in fullscreen. Likely due to poor flash performance?
vimeo is simple:
1st/
take the id number from the file. eg 82739
2nd/
put it at the end of this url : http://www.vimeo.com/moogaloop/load/clip:82739
3rd/
Look for this:
