Skinning question

I'm trying to have different icons for the hard drive depending on what section you are in, so for example the music page and the movies page have a different set of icons for disk drives. I am looking through different skins and learning as I go. Most, that I have seen, have a defaultharddiskbig.png, but I can't find this in any xml file, or an example of how to set a page to use an image other than the default. any suggestions?

The icons are normally set via listitem.icon, and XBMC chooses the image to use.

So it'd be quite tricky to do anything else I suspect in the general sense, though I think for the "root" of the views you may be able to do something, as you know in that case that they're all icons, and may be able to overlay them with another icon. The problem then is identifying the "root".

Perhaps some other skinners may have some ideas?
