I noticed my XBMC-Linux is not able to read any ID3 tags, while they are actually present. I tested many albums and mp3's but all the same problem.
* I upgraded SVN and rebuild, still the same problem.
* I have enabled library, and Tag Reading in the settings.
* When i press Album Info --> it states No Artist Found!
* When i press Music Info --> all fields are empty

Your build is NOT latest SVN.
Look at your change # and then look at change # 13424

You are probably running ./XboxMediaCenter (old binary) rather than ./xbmc.bin
jm, I think he just needs the new id3tag shared library that spiff rebuilt. He was only a few changes behind current SVN.
You can check your change # in the log you posted.

ok thanks..
Didnt work with the latest svn from 05-06-08.. r13424.
but indeed in noticed after SVN Update the mp3-tag files got updated again.. same for ID3Lib but my XBMC wouldnt work after upgrade. Some python problem.
I'm not at home atm, will try reupgrade to the newest SVN and remove the python2.4lib.so should work then again and will test ID3 then again.
Thanks for the reply's,
Razor

I have the same problem - rebuilt to newest SVN - reports "No Artist Found" - any further suggestions gentlemen?
no artist found is issued IF you try to do a ONLINE lookup (album information) on a FOLDER that does not hold an album. it then tries to associate an artist with the path using the info that is SCANNED to your library. hmf, i told ppl having those available in file mode was asking for problems.
in conclusion, use 'SCAN ITEM TO LIBRARY', not ALBUM / ARTIST INFORMATION

yes - that now cetainly works - thanks for that solution - not worthy etc! - are you saying ("I told ppl") that its a bit of a bug that needs a fix or a developers disageement? (what's ppl?)
