Okay, I definitely have tried reading the readmes and the stickies, not just on this site but elsewhere. The problem is that it's information overload. I need the baby steps.

My goal is to take my old Xbox and install XBMC on it, with the ability to run emulators and play burned movies and games, etc. I have no permanent internet connection and have no desire to play Xbox Live or stream anything through my computer.

In fact, I need to install XBMC with as absolutely minimum PC interaction as possible.

The tools I have are temporary internet access, an original unmodded Xbox, a copy of 007 Agent Under Fire, and an Action Replay with memory card.

I found this tutorial:http://www.productwiki.com/microsoft-xbox/article/how-to-go-from-xbox-to-xbox-media-center-in-30-minutes.html

and was wondering if anyone can take a look at it and correct any mistakes or identify whether it is obsolete.

I'm familiar with torrent sites and could easily download the rar unzippers and so forth. What's screwing me up is getting scared of bricking my Xbox. I've heard talk of "audio exploits" and changing the Xbox led light and coldbooting two dashboards and it's just over my head.

Please, would anyone be willing to take some time to help me with the baby steps first? Remember all I want to do is use 007 Agent Under Fire to install XBMC as my Xbox dashboard with the hope of running emulators and burned media.

Thank ANYONE for this assistance and I will do my best to not be a dumb pest.

Sorry but we do not actually help with the modding part here at the XBMC forum, please refer to xbox-scene.com (http://www.xbox-scene.com) and their forums instead. Then later if you have problems specificly with installing or configuring XBMC on your Xbox we are more than happy to help you here at the XBMC community forum.
