getting started

sorry guys to ask the obvious question, though i haven't found coherent information on how to get started with setting up xbmc.

i have a clean xbox and would like to start putting xbmc on that machine. can anybody provide me with some info (urls, links,etc.) on how to start setting up xbmc. starting post the installation of the mod-chip. my question is a rudimentary as how to get on the hardware via ethernet.

i understand this is utterly rudimentary of a question, though maybe i just don|t see the forest of all the trees! :c(
