View Full Version : Dropping frames at the start of every video

Hi all. According to codecinfo i'm dropping frames at the very start of every video. Seems to be about 20-30 frames for sd xvids and 50-60 frames for 720p x264. This behavior applies to both local content and content streamed from smb. Cpu usage is at about 5% for the xvids and files continue to play through fine without dropping any more frames. Anyone have any idea how to solve this? I’m using the latest SVN version, with intel x3100 gfx. Thanks.

I'll often see one of those just as I start a video.

Is that really a problem? I would guess thatīs normal behaviour. The initalization, getting the stream going, might get the main focus for second instead of making sure every frame gets delivered.

I sure have the same result, but itīs more like 1-10 frames dropped, probably depends on the hardware.

yea I guess it doesn't really make much difference visually. I've just noticed other people mentioning they can play certain files without dropping frames, so i assume I could run a low res xvid without dropping any either... cpu is a 2.2ghz core2duo.
