Remote questions

Hi guys. I am planing on converting one of my old linux boxes into a xbmc only box and was wondering what remote control hardware you would recomend.

I have a logitec harmony 555 remote and plan on using that, all I need is an IR reciver that is compatable with linux.

I was looking at one of those on ebay, is it really compatable with XP/Linux? It says "Requires a Media Center PC running Windows XP Media Center Edition"

Yes they are compatible I'm currently using one my self :)

Excelent, one last question. Can you power up the pc via the remote? That was probably my only problem with xbmc-xbox.

I can't. I think you can if you put the box in S1/S3 sleep.
