FanArt in file-mode?

I doubt it, for the simple reason that we have no idea from filemode to know what your directory structure is (nor do we care). Thus, there is no well defined way to get back to the show folder in order to find the fanart.

No. The problem is simple: Where the fanart file is found is entirely dependent on how you have your filesystem arranged, thus no simple system to determine where things are. Thus, it is reserved for library mode.
