So i've waited a week - maybe longer for a thread on this skin, its been in the SVN now for a while now, and I must say its freaking awesome, I want to be able to use it full time, but there's a now playing banner across the screen when the screensaver kicks in, which I need to get rid off, ( I have a plasma screen running at 720p, which I put into screensaver mode after 1 minute as im paranoid about burn in )
Ive uploaded a screenshot so you can see what im on about, and hopefully help me get rid of that bar!

sorry, can't help you on the screensaver problem, but this skin is freakin' sweet!

Mntz, are you using latest XBMC? There is no wallpaper :shocked:
This skin was actually started long ago but I figured some others might like it.
My heart is still with antoher project but I plan to maintain and update this as time allows. IT'S FAR FROM COMPLETE.

Screen options menu is hidden.
If you can see part of the option bar at the bottom you need to calibrate your screen.
Background changes based on time of day and customizable.

Coverflow view is always a welcomed feature :-)
Is that background from your screenshots used by default? On mine it's just showing black until I set a background.

Awesome thanks, all I can possibly suggest is libary updates, Ie for TV shows, each view has the episode details and the screen cap if available :)

Yes it's default but requires latest version of XBMC.
Please let me know if this doesn't work.
Really loving this skin, thank you Wir3d. Would like to change "clips" for "anime" and have it point to my anime share like TV Shows and Movies. How would I go about making that change?
Wir3d, thanks again for this skin. I think Jezz_x made a little command-tool to quickly reformat a skin's textures and such to 16x9 and 4x3. Maybe he can help you out if you want to add more resolutions besides 720p. Just a thought..

Jezz_X made a (and don't laugh) a mIRC script to do it sinc its the only programmign language I know :) so unless you run mIRC its a little pointless But I am happy to un it through when he is done. but it requires more tweaking after to get it looking right this just does about 90% of the work

If you change the share name to Clips it should work. If this isn't an option then you will have to edit HomeMenu.xml

There is allot I want to do prior to releasing a 4:3 version.
I can tell you that it does work on 4:3 but as you probably know it's hard to read and some images don't show up correctly.

It should be possible. I did something like this for another mod a while back.
I'll add it to the to-do list and will try to do some updates this weekend.
cool skin , thanx .. small request , can you add 'video' or 'videos' to the main menu available options , i'm not a tv / movie sorter and i know lots of others who aren't ..
I like the concept of the icons for movies, tv shows and such but instead of having a cbs logo maybe have a old fashioned tv box and for movies instead of having that reel or mickey mouse looking icon maybe have a more detailed reel.

This seems to be on the right track. Some suggestions:
-4:3 version!
-Change the media type glyphs to be more in a more consistent style (right now the pictures one is 3D, others are front-on, music is a complicated person silhouette while others are logos) and more fitting to the media type (films shouldn't just be distinguished by Disney, TV shouldn't just be distinguished by CBS)
-Change the font to something similar but a bit more unique and stylish. Xephyr does a good job with this. Some nice fonts are Absolut, AvantGarde, Continuum, Eurostile, Florencesans, Gotham, Klavika, Nevis, and Stainless
Keep up the good work.
Several updates were upped yesterday and today:
Changed pretty much all animations.
Fixed some video and music info text due to XBMC update.
Random images to home (similar to Divx Connected).
This needs more work. I am currently using a multiimage control because that's the only way I know to grab random images.
If this feature is liked I will more than likely change it so users can choose the image folders.
Regarding the custom home images I was able to have Music pull cover images from the thumnail folder. This is the only one I could do this for due to how xbmc currently groups thumnails.
All images are still work in progress. They are not anywhere near final.
Latest t3ch build is required. Let me know if you run into any bugs or problems.
When in TV Shows all my shows are in reverse alphabetic order and I can't click on the 'Accending/Decending' to change it.

I'm really digging this skin, even on the os-x variant. I love the ability to add and remove main menu items (I know it's available in other skins, but this one is much less cluttered, and wastes a lot less space). Is there a way to set it so that the main menu doesn't scroll, and the highlighted item changes instead? I don't think I saw an option for that...

If I understand this, basically you want to turn off the animation?

I'll have to look at it again when I get home. Turning off the animation may do that. Having the menu items move around messes with my spatial reasoning.

Fixed some home menu animations
Added option to turn off home scrolling animations (in skin settings)

"Right Mouse" clicking in Coverflow view mode doesn't bring up the context senstitive menu (e.g. In movies "Get Movie information", "Manually Add to Library etc.)
Going into scripts and selecting the Apple Movie Trailers causes the host app to crash. Other skins, Vision, xTV etc. don't have their own implementation of this page either, but look like they link to a PMIII skin page for this feature.

A fix for the crashing is in SVN.
I was not able to recreate the context menu issue.
It works for me on Windows PC and XBOX so I have to assume it's on the OSXBMC/Plex end.
Weird.. when I right click on an image in "flow" view mode (say in the movies library) it just kicks me back to the main menu, but in any of the list view modes it seems to work fine
Hey found the problem! PMIII also does it if you click on the albums.
Anyways the fix is in SVN. You have to right click on the center image.
Click anywhere else and it will return to the main menu.

Where do I find the SVN with the Insidious skin? I downloaded the latest SVN (XBMC 2008-06-30 SVN rev13851 build - T3CH - GX-MOD) but it only has the PMIII skin in it. I'm not at the right area, obviously.

For all intents and purposes, xbmcsm does not work on a mac. Any idea how I can install Insidious into OSXBMC without this? I just need the skin folder! It must be out there somewhere.

Thanks XBS; unfortunately I have no idea what to do with that link. Safari won't open it at all, Camino opens it and shows a list of what I assume is the contents of the Insidious folder, but I can neither open nor download any of the files (get an "error: document contains no data" message).
Looks like I'll have to stick with Aeon since a n00b like me can't even handle the installation of Insidious.:stare:

This is the cleanest skin I've seen yet! I registered here just so I could say thanks!!
It's so much better than Aeon or Mediastream in my opinion. Those are far too cluttered and hard to read. The menus are dark, the stock images are faaaaaaar too busy. I get a headache looking at them.
I have a 52" 1080p TV and have been using xTV for the last year. It has a nice look, but I liked the improved features in Aeon. But on a big screen Aeon's menus are horrible. The same with Mediastream. They distract from the artwork on all the movie, cd and tv show covers I've so painstakingly downloaded.
And then I found Insidious...............:D:eek2:

It has every menu option I could want, links to libraries, scripts and power menu on home page (why no one else does this??).
Wir3d you are a genius. Pure simplicity with ultimate functionality.....wow.
Here are my constructive criticisms/comments:
-when custom night background is enabled fanart does not appear for TV shows
-a media info type view for movies!!!! I can tell you hate clutter but a few of those views would lend well to having a little text injected. List3 in particular would look awesome with text to the left of the DVD cover:

-ability to make a specific drive default in Videos (not working for me)
-1080i support!!!! (Not rushing you, just hoping soon! :p)
-the 'trailer' option in Movie Info isn't working for me even with AMT fully installed, could there be an option to enable this in skin settings?
-use fanart for the music library view - doesn't need to change with albums, but a different background to tell I've switched menus would be nice!

Sorry I missed the last post... Been busy!
I have pretty much abandoned this skin and started another from the ground up.
It's very similar to this but more along the lines of Divx Connected.
Not sure why but I have always been intrigued by Connected.
Anyways, look for something real soon. I am looking for a tester or two so PM me if you are interested. Currently have a 720p tester.
