However, Do you think a Core 2 Duo 2ghz will be able to decode 1080p mkv like Coreavc can do in Windows? I Have a lot a dropped frames when the bitrate go higher than 15mbs/s?

Depends on so many factors: coding enhancements from outside this project, from within this project, apple releasing better video playback code, magic fairies sprinkling pixie dust...I the Mac Mini Core Duo 2 does just fine in 1080/24p playback currently for almost anything available on the torrents today.

Get a Playstation 3 to do Bluray stuff.
